For those who want to know????
Laine, Bobby and I went to the sonagram yesterday and Bobby is having a little brother! just think another little me! wow, we are so happy, also my upper GI went well, I guess, all the barium passed well and I was able to see really how small my pouch is,,, so I am still having problems eating solids, I tried to eat a small tuna sandwich yesterday but to no avail, it came up only half of a half,, because of that I am worried that I will never be able to eat normaly again, maybe I have a really sensitive pouch, but hell after 4 months wouldnt you think it would be ready? shhheeeesh!

Rick!
First of all congrats on the baby boy. Secondly I had the same thing happening at about the same stage as you. I was unable to truly eat solid foods for about the first 6 months. Now I can pretty much eat anything within reason of course. I don't eat sandwiches and such as I know I don't need the bread but I still can't do tuna. That is a tough one for some. I do ok with chicken now but still kind of steer clear of it as it has it's days as well with me. Don't fret my friend it does all resolve with time, I know exactly how you feel. I fell into a depression over it and thought I had totally screwed up my life by having this surgery.. I think that is normal too to feel that way. But the thing is that I had an ulcer and still have to have another Upper GI and endoscopy done to find out what is going on in my pouchie..
Just know you are not alone my friend, I too have been there and if you need anything let me know.

I understand
Rick,
I totally understand where you are coming from. Trust me I have been there too. I even stopped eating in public or around people for fear of vomiting or whatever the case was. I even pretty much stopped eating for days at a time because for one I had no appetite and the other thing was I just plain didn't want the hastles that came with eating. I would go two or three days without a drop of food and then I got to the point where I could tollerate dill pickle spears.. I got a lot of people hounding me about this.. saying that it was not nutritional for me to eat that.. well I pretty much said put yourself in my shoes and see what soothes your pouch and then you judge me. It made me mad for a while because I swear nothing would stay down. I even hurled at the poway support group, I was one sick little girl. But now I am doing much better. Did Dr. C up your prilosec?? I now take 4 daily and it seems to help. If I don't take it like I should.. I am in pain and not only that, I seem to have problems with dry heaving and/or vomiting. Again I have to re-do my upper GI and do an endoscopy still.. but I am doing ok right now.
Good luck to you my friend.. and if you need anything let me know.. I can totally relate with how you feel... it is pretty depressing. I remember thinking.. is this what the rest of my life is going to be like?? Am I destined to live like this forever?? Well I am doing better now, and I hope that you too will feel better soon as well.. it is really hard to have great energy when you don't get the nutrition you need.
Hope you feel better soon..

baby boy
Congrats on the baby boy. Me too.
As Christina said both bread and tuna are tough. I am 18 months out and still have trouble with bread. Tuna has to be very moist with mayo. Remember you didn't have this surgery to eat normally, you may never be able to eat certain foods again, but with all you've lost look at all you've gained.

Congrats. on baby boy! I wish I had trouble with the bread. I think you should follow what Christina says. I remember what she went through and now look at her. I hope everything gets better for you!

Congrats to DadX2!
Great news - another baby boy! Bobby will get over wanting a little sister... and if he doesn't, you can always try again!!!
Hope Laine's back is holding up - I empathize, having thrown my back out last week and being out of work all week... lots of women have that problem during pregnancy, and few of us appreciate what our moms went through for us!!!
Your weight loss is stupendous - sorry the pouch is being uncooperative. Maybe it's your body telling you what it wants and doesn't - I can eat surprisingly normally now, but from time to time the ole body says NO!!
This can be annoying when the head is saying EAT, but in the long run, this is what gets the weight off. As others have pointed out, usually you get more tolerant of more foods eventually. We all progress a little differently I guess. Glad the GI tests didn't show any problems.
Hang in there!
