Default Pukey feeling?

Hi all I have a question? I get a pukey feeling after I eat about 3 bites of almost anything? i have the gallbladder ultrasound and Dr Coster said it showed no stones but sludgy bile so i am starting a new med tonight to speed up or disolve the bile! He said I maybe have an ulcer! I don't have any pain with this just an upset tummy? It doesn't last very long and then I'm fine? I am also taking carafate! Yuck! Any of you who have had an ulcer or similar problems have any ideas I'd like some input? Thanks,Mike

My ulcer caused a burning sensation and a deep pain that radiated to my upper back. I never experienced a pukey feeling.

If an acid blocker makes the pain go away, then there is your answer. Sometimes people who have symptoms of gallbladder issues, but no stones, they can do a CCK (cholecystokinin) stimiulated PIPIDA scan. It is a nuclear medicine study where they give you CCK which causes the gall bladder to contract. If that simulates the pain....VIOLA. If not they can calculate how well the gallbladder emptys as it may be a sluggish gall bladder (biliary dyskinesia). An upper endoscopy wouldn't hurt prior to another trip to the OR just to be sure if the diagnosis is in question. Hope this helps and you are feeling better.

SirMikey...

I had my gall bladder out in 2000..and havent had the surgery, so Im not sure if this is a help or not.. but...

I NEVER had any pain.. I threw up 15-18 times a day with my gall bladder.. and it took over a year to diagnose because it simply didnt hurt.. when they took it out it was "diseased" (for an extended period of time).. and full of stones that they didnt really see on the ultrasound.. so, I would have to say that sometimes, gall bladders dont always have pain.. (the minute mine was out.. the sickness went away .. )..

I had an ulcer and when it was BAD there was lots of pain - but when it was almost healed, I ran out of Protonix and Carafate and had an insurance problem getting my refill - I had symptoms similar to yours - As soon as I would eat I would feel crappy - almost like I was dumping, but it was with ALL foods and liquids - then it would go away in about 30-45 minutes. It took 5 days, but I worked out the insurance (I was just going to self pay - but it was over $100 - it's only $26 with my insurance!) Everything was fine. I did have a upper GI scope to diagnosis the ulcer - that was a piece of cake . . hee hee . .. not cake, that would make me dump . .. maybe a piece of turkey.

Don't know about the ulcer, but try eating a little slower and see if it helps. I know you are chewing and not drinking with meals and that also causes it. Even at a year out, I still get the slime if I eat too fast.

Mike- I have experianced both issues and ironically I was pregnant both times. I vomitted alot with both and had severe pain with both. Even Know I can tell when My gall bladder is acting up because I get really sick to my stomache and I get lots of pain. Spicy foods is what bothered my ulcer. like one of the other girls said eat a little slower it might help.
