Default Pegnancy and WLS Question

Hi

I haven't posted for a while but I am here often reading posts.

I know a few members have had babies after their surgeries. My question is did you have to limit protein supplements or the use of splenda since we cant use sugar?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and usually drink 2 protein supplements a day to get my protein quata of 80 grams in

Thanks for any advice!

I pretty much kept everything the same as far as getting my protein in. All that really chanced for me was switching from Centrum and taking prenatals. Which BTW is a lot better then the Centrum all together. I also had to break up my meals and have 6 really small meals instead of 3. It was hard for me to get all my protein in at first so I had to break my meals down so I could meet my protein limit. BIG CONGRATS ON THE GREAT NEWS .

Default We must be thinking alike...

I woke up this morning with a million pregnancy questions this morning and who not to better ask but my fellow sistas....

Most of you know I am 17 weeks pregnant....

I have a few concerns: I eat often probably 4 0r 5 meals a day. I eat a ton of fruit and meat...I can not do the protein drinks..So I try to get my protein in from foods. I am sure I am lacking but all my blood work has come out fine but my concern is that I am not really gaining any weight. My last doctor didn't seem that concerned about it but I have only gained about 4lbs in the whole 17 weeks I have been pregnant.....Anyone else who was pregnant have that problem? Is that Ok? My doctors just keep shrugging me off without answers....My husband is about to have a nerveous break down and thinks we are going to have an unhealthy baby due to my limited eating....Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Gaining only 4 pounds in the first trimester is fine. Some even lose as the morning sickness is so bad. As long as the baby is growing, that is what is important. You gain most of the weight in the third trimester. Usually at a rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week. 25 pounds in the nine months is healthy.

I am not pregnant and did not have my baby after GB, but I only gained 4 1/2 lbs my entire pregnancy and she was only 1 week early and weighed 7lbs 1 oz. The reason I only gained 4 1/2 lbs is because during the first 2 trimesters I actually lost almost 40 lbs, from being very sick. So by the end of the pregnancy and end of the third trimester I was feeling better and finally gained the weight. That was over 8 years ago. Man how times fly.
