Michelle, I was thinking the same thing as Rene! LOL My son called me a "Hot Momma" last night and busted out laughing at him! LOL He said...."Well you are looking good Mom"! He teases me all the time since I am straightening my hair now and he says I am getting "more with the times". LOL

It's entirely frightening--An Inconvenient Truth. The thing that makes me sit up and take notice is the melting of the polar ice cap and the glaciers in Antarctica. I recently read that they anticipate that the north pole will be completely thawed within 30 years. That's in all of our lifetimes.

Those of us boomers that learned how to "duck and cover" in the event of nuclear holocaust now have a new demon to consider, as if we weren't already scarred by the Cuban Missle Crisis. Ancient history, I know, but potent stuff. Ask anyone born before the mid '50's....

Just my luck to be going broke in SoCal while I freeze my skinny arse offf.

It is now 68 degrees in Central Pennsylvania-- hubby and I took the dog to the dog park in shorts and T-shirts this morning. This can't POSSIBLY be a good thing...

Don't get me wrong, I get sick of the snow every year too, but this just isn't right... I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to get ANY snow this year???

Our magnolia tree has buds on it, our grass is green again, the shrubs have new green leaves... if this keeps up for a few more days, we're going to have to mow the freakin' LAWN!!! What the heck?!?!

I just talked to my Mom in Maine and she was telling me how warm it is! That's nuts! It's in the 30's here! I'm sitting here typing with flannel jammie pants, turtleneck, bathrobe, and slipppers, and could still use another layer or a blankie!!! I froze my ass off (I wish) going to aquasize class this morning! I hope all the shivering will help me shed those pounds!

Default Well, I'm sorry for all the popsicle toes in sunny CA...

...but those of us in New England who dread seeing the heating bills, this has been great! We've used about 1/3 of the oil we usually do. Some national meterologist type on NBC said it is El Nino, not global warming. (This does NOT mean that we should give any slack to the politicians who don't believe in global warming!) Hmm...what is considered cooooold in San Diego, folks?

Well i think i know where everyone missing snow has gone.... we are hogging it here in Colorado. Blizzard christams week (3 ft), new years week(2 more feet) and a pretty sizeable snowstorm (ONLY 9 inches) Friday(Denver Metro depths - the mountains got atleast double all that). My mom says this is nuts... its barely snowed here the last couple years... atleast down in Denver.. of course it snows in the mountains but stuff rarely makes it this far. Expecially to dump on us the way it has been. If school had been in session the last couple weeks(instead of out for christmas break) 6 of the last 15 week days would have been snow days. And they dont call snow days lightly around here! They generally keep it to a MAXIMUM of 5 snow days Per school year. .... Oh and did i mention that the "snow season" isnt supposed to REALLY start around here until around February? This could be a LONG cold winter.. Hooray for heating blankets!

I lived in Colorado for 4 years, but lived on the Western Slope near Grand Junction.. I was married at the time, and I can remember my step kids waking us up all excited because they were going to make a snow man... and there was like .5 inch of snow! Being a NY girl, I was like huh? When they finished making their mini-snow man, there was NO snow on the yard LOL... However, we got stuck in Denver while they avalanche blasted one year.. I saw on the news tonight that they had an avalanche up near Loveland pass.. Good Luck with the snow.. (I dont miss it!.. however I often miss Colorado!)
