Default Losing weight

I am at the end of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet....surgery tommorow morning about 10. Here is my constant thought. I have lost about 10lbs on this pre-op diet.........so why dont I just continue with some slight adjustments on this path? 10 lbs in 2 weeks aint half bad. I am pretty hungry though. I realize the only reason I am able to lose the weight is because I know the surgery is tomorrow and that is what is keeping me on the liquid diet. Well I went to wal mart and bought a pair of flannell house pants....to cool.

You are gonna be great!!! I agree that the pre-op requirements are much easier to handle when you know there is a really good reward at the end of it!

Do I really want to be normal?? Having some body issues. Don't want to be too thin.

Best of luck to you tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that feeling of "hey, I lost 14 lbs on this 2 wk diet, I can just keep doing this and lose the weight"...even a couple of the docs I work for told me that. They said I was doing so great on that liquid diet, I should just stick to that! Here's the thing though.....I NEVER would stick to that. I didn't even stick to it then..I cheated....we all know about my big sandwich story! I know myself too well.....if I could control my appetite, I wouldn't have needed the surgery! I can't wait to hear how you feel afterward. Well, don't go by how you feel the 1st month...wait until after that.....it gets so much better! Some people feel great right away...ya just never know. For me, I had complications, so have no idea what "normal" is. All I know is I feel good now and am satisfied with my little portions. It's a great feeling!!!

Best of luck tomorrow. We'll be keeping a spot on the loser's bench nice and warm for you. Post when you feel up to it to let us know how everything went.

Take good care of yourself. This is YOUR time!

I wish you a fast and easy time of it. Remember that it gets better every day.

And this is what I say to the thoughts of "why don't I just continue this diet, I'm losing so well"...if I could have done it without surgery, I would have by now. I am morbidly obese because I cannot. So, I had the surgery and have not regreted one second of it.

Stay warm in your flannel pants!

It is not just the ability to lose a few pounds...the ability to stick to it, make it to goal and then keep it off is a struggle. The vast majority as we all know, aren't successful without this surgery. Best of luck to you and you will be great.
