Default Potato soup

I'm on full liquids till my colon feels better and well...I'm only wanting to eat potato soup and broth. Now, yes, I added my dryed milk but I feel so guilty eating these carbs. I guess I'm afraid and yet because of this surgery I really don't feel like eating at all. I'm sure I'll get back to normal soon but I feel like a newbie again. How about you Donna? I had nothing as bad as your ordeal by any means but are you feeling "more normal" yet?

huggs

Hey, Beth,
It's good for you to talk about it. As a matter of fact, I am absolutely NOT coming out of this quickly. I have a horrible struggle to try to get real food in everyday. I have no appetite, and when I do eat I feel really sick after only 3-4 bites. I still have a PICC line in and I am pretty sure that Doc P will put me back on TPN because I am still losing weight. How ironic is that? Now I've lost too much weight and need to put it back on....Even Doc P told me to consume calories--he told me to "Put an extra pat of butter on your mashed potatoes!" I've never heard THOSE words before!!

Seriously, Beth, I hope you're feeling better soon--this is really crap to feel this bad.

Default OMG it is so true.

I'm so sorry your body is still not up to par. But yes I do know it is weird having people say you need to eat. I'm thinking my body will tell me. They're sayng it is. Who'd have thunk our doctor's telling us to eat more calories? Thanks so much for getting your story out there. I didn't hesitate when I thought this just isn't right. What would we do without this board?

Huggs-very gentle huggs to you.
