My Thanksgiving - Magic Mountain
Well we are back from our Magic Mountain trip. For those who don't know me, I made a "goal" while still in the hospital that once I got under 200lbs I was going to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. I hit that goal in Septemberish, but just got the chance to get away for the trip. We went on Wednesday. There were hardly any people there. Our lines were maybe 10 minutes, then after about 2PM, there were no lines and we went on the rides a second time. The weather was perfect, about 70. We got in FREE. A radio station was having a food drive, that if you brought a bag of non-perishable food, you got a ticket for that day. I had a lot of left over soups and stuff so both my hubby and I got in free. If you haven't been in a while..... you must go. All the rides were so much fun. I NEVER questioned whether I was going to fit in the seat or not. That was such a stress reliever. Actually I found myself comparing my harnesses and seat belts with my husbands. Mine clicked lower than his. He is not fat, just very muscular. OK, so I have to tell you about this one ride Tatsu. You sit in the seat and the harness comes down over your head and clicks in place. Then the seats flip forward so that you are basically hanging face down. It takes you super high up, over the park, you see the people under you getting smaller and smaller as you are raised up. Then you take off. It is like your flying face down. It twists, turns, flips, flies, etc. OMG it was the funest thing I have ever experienced in my life. I kept saying OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG then when the ride stopped, I could not stop laughing and began crying I was so happy. We rode that ride again just before we left the park. Obviously we didn't eat much, because we didn't want to get sick. I wanted one of those giant pickles but didn't want to eat it before getting on a ride in fear of throwing up. Well, thank you for letting me share. Now I need to make a new "goal". I am so bad at making goals and sticking to them, but I think this surgery has made me see things in a new light.

Sounds like a blast....isn't there rumors that Magic Mountain may close???? Better get in while you can...it was a beautiful day....We spent it at the beach as my family came in from out of state. Nice thing about the holidays, it's not as crowded as people generally stay home to celebrate.

OMG THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE!!
*Anytime* you want to go to MM Ronda you tell me, and I am SO there with you. We went around halloween and it was PHENOMENAL! My personal post op goal as well.
Last time I went prior to Halloween was 2001, like 75 lbs LESS than my pre-op weight and I was brutally rejected by Batman. The harness wouldnt fit and I had to get off in front of all my co workers. This time round it clicked and I was like, hysterically laughing and crying. The attendant was freaked out lol.
As far as Tatsu, an absolute must. I LOVED the flying sensation. Also Deja Vu. Did you have a chance to go on that?

I'm jealous. I'm a HUGE Six Flags fan (buy a seasons pass each year!) but ours closes just after Halloween!! Hard to ride the rides in the cold and snow. lol
I'm so glad you had a great time!! Isn't it wonderful not to worry about fitting on teh rides?! I was ecstatic that I got to ride Superman for the first time this year. I also had to get off of the ride, humiliated, in previous years. YEAH TO A GREAT DAY!!!

Marie, I have heard that rumor. Don't know why they would close that place. It is so much fun.
Tammy, you and I girl are on for a date. The X coaster was closed due to a long lead time on a special part. It is anticipated to be up and running in Jan, so I am definitely wanting to go again.
Anyone else want to go maybe in Feb/Mar timeframe? We should plan a group trip if anyone else can make it. That would be such a blast. Only us "losers" truly know what it is like to get back in the driver seat of those coasters after so long fearing not fitting or actually not fitting. I had to get off a coaster at Knotts Berry farm last year. Very embarrassing.

Six Flags (or whatever the parent companies name is) is having financial difficulties and is talking of shutting down some of the parks. What a pity!!

The last I heard they were closing down the water parks first. 6 Flags MM will be the last to go unless it it purchased by a larger company. ATM Anheuser Busch and the parent company for Cedar Park (the people that own Knott's) have stated extreme interest.
Despite the rumors they have invested WAY too much in to this particular park to consider selling it for real estate. If they do sell it it will go to another theme park entity. IMO the only way it would be sold for real estate is if 6Flags doesnt survive a massive bankruptcy. They are far from that point atm.
