Support Group In Tijuana!! - ThinnerTimes

Last month I posted saying I was going to do a support group in Tijuana. Well it's beggining to form now. Our first support group will be on January 8th, 2005. I can't do it before cause of the holidays and many people go out for the holidays, so we will start next year, to start of the year the right way with positive thinking. I am so happy, my doctor thought it was a great idea and told my mom I was a smart girl for doing this in Tijuana. He said he always wanted to do something like this but never had the time or support from others to start off, so here I am starting this group in Tj. Everyone is welcome from this forum too, we all need advise from people post-op. I already have many notes, questions, special guest, ideas, and you know mostly all my ideas are from this forum, you people rock, you have helped me alot. This first meeting we'll have is to tell everyone what we want to do, how we are going to help everyone by attending this support group. Many mexican people need this help, they want to have the surgery done but have no clue on the consequences or good stuff about this... this is why I want to create this group to motivate and have everyone well inform about the gastric bypass procedure and what happens afterwards. I am so so excited, I just want to help others and get to know more people like me.

My mom had her surgery last Tuesday she is doing so well. She is my main support, she is going to help me out alot by letting me use her daycare in Tj for our support group.

If any one is interested in helping or wants to attend to our 1st support group let me know please. I will like to take with me people from this forum. You may tell your experience, before and after, to other people. If you dont speak spanish, but still want to go and show your support you are more than welcome to attend!

I also want to share with you that TV AZTECA a spanish channel is going to interview me tomorrow at my house. They interviewed my doctor and they saw a flier I made and placed in his office for the support group. The doctor gave her my name & # and also my moms. They want to see pictures of me before & they want me to tell them more about the support group. I am so excited, it's just too many things at once, but I am very happy to help others that have no clue about the gastric bypass.

Veronica that is so freaking cool. You are going to be a pioneer in Mexico for this procedure! You so totally rock chica! My mom will be here on the 8th, so I may be able to go. We will have to make arrangements. I dont speak a lick of spanish, but I would love to be there to support you or assist you with answering questions!

Hi Bridget! I'm glad to hear your doing fine, also heard you look great. I really admire you for all the achievements you have accomplished.

Well today is my interview w/ TV Azteca a mexican tv channel. They want to see my before pictures. I am so excited but nervouse, I'm going to come out on TV

. Everyone is going to see me. Well I still dont know when they will show the interview & what time. People are going to see my before pictures how embarrassing

. But oh well.

Now I know why you guys call people in here loosers, last night I was watching a show about loosing weight & they called eachother loosers cause of all that weight they lost. I know it sound dome but I didn't know the definition until last night. Sorry!

Wow, that is so cool. Congrats, what you are doing is wonderful and needs to be broadcast. I admire you for what you have taken on. Good luck with the TV interview, you are an inspiration!

wow! I am just so happy to hear all the stuff u r going to be doing thats is wonderful! i heard your msg but didnt have time to call back (so sorry) i am sooo going to attend the support group and i hope ill be less heavier by then (my surgery is on dec 13) i am soo intrested in this is just crazy how people dont take medical procedures so serious not just in TIJuana but in MExico overall! wow!! I am so happy for all that u r doing!! way 2 go!!!

Well they reschedule the interview for Monday @ 5:30pm, there was something going on in Tj & the person who is going to interview me couldn't make it. It's ok though cause that give me more time to get ready. I also had my first call yesterday from a lady in Tj that is having her surgery done today. She called me for advise & wanted to know what to take with her. She will be attending the support group as well. Thanks Paulina & Bridgett for your support & Pam & watergirl too.

Today is my 14th week post-op, I have lost a little over 50lbs, I'm at 188lbs I think. My clothes are huge. But I dont want to buy anything until I loose a little more weight.

Paulina congratulations that is so cool you having your surgery so soon. Let me know where your going to have your surgery ok. And the best luck with you, I'll tell my mom about you so we can pray for you!

Good going on setting up a deal in Mexico. I'll go to your deal when you have it, but I won't be able to follow everything to well unless..
