Sorry I haven't been around much. Not the best month
Hey guys. I'm sorry I haven't been around much for the last month. It hasn't been the best of months for me and I've been feeling a little down but it should be getting better.
I know most of you are aware of the emotional time I went through with the breast biopsy a few weeks ago. Thankfully prayers were answered and all was well but the month hasn't got a lot better for me, I'm afraid. Right after my biopsy my oldest daughter was told she needed some further testing to check to see if she has cervical cancer. She has gone through those tests but now we are sitting and waiting for the results of her tests. She has pretty severely abnormal cervical cells and they are unsure what is causeing it. She had to have a LEEP procedure to take a better biopsy and to burn off the irregular cells. Then last week I developed shingles (probably brought on by the stress I've been under). I went through a week or so of a lot of pain and itching from the shingles. The pain has now finally passed though I still am having a lot of problems with the itching. The rash is looking better, so I am hopefully on the down side of this. In the middle of all of this last Friday my biopsy incision split open due to fluid collecting in the area where the dr took out the tissue so I was off to the doctor once again to have him look at it. It's doing okay but has to re-heal a bit.
Anyway I've just really lost my appetite. I don't know if it's the meds I'm on for for the shingles or all of the added stress lately but eating has been a bit of an issue. I think because I haven't been eating much my body has been thrown into the "starvation mode" and I have also hit my first plateau. I'm just working at getting in my protein as best as I can along with my water, getting out and walking (though I haven't been doing the best with my exercising lately ). The weather turned suddenly cool and rainy here in michigan so I'm having a hard time motivating myself to go outside and the pain from the shingles has kept me off of my exercise bike.
I know things will get better. The good thing is that I haven't turned to eating during the stress of the month. I am finding other ways to cope that are more healthy for me.
Sorry for the depressing post. I just wanted all of you to know that I am still around, thinking of all of you but struggling a bit right now.

Well, you could ITCH, Walk, drink a Protein Drink, and Itch some more!!
Doesn't that sound fun? LOL!!
On a serious note...I am sorry! I hope your Daughters tests come back ok, and that your rash clears up. Sounds like a bowl of fun...Hopefully the rest of the month won't be so bad and you will get some good news again!
(It could be a huge let down too, from all the stress you were under not that long ago...our bodies sometimes wait until the trauma is over to finally react...give it time my dear...I am sure it will get better!!)

Oh my, what a crappy month you have had. I sincerely hope all is well with your daughter. I had a similar thing with the "weird cells", so I remember well all the procedures and PAP smears. As for you, you need to get out the supplements and drink if you can't eat. I don't want you to end up sick and malnourished.......weight loss issues aside. If you have to, throw cheese into stuff and try and get those calories and protein. I am so sorry you are going through so much. Please make sure you keep us updated and vent your stress and fears here. You know we're here for you.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this. Try to keep your head up as best you can. As for your daughter I will send all my good thoughts her way because I just went through the same thing 3 months ago and I go in Friday for my first retest to make sure everything is ok now. The freezing off and the test were the worst part I think or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
Just remember everyone is here for you. Keep your head up and I will send all my good thoughts to you and your daughter.

Hugs!!
Beth, with everything you are going through you still took the time to read my post and try to make me feel better. You are so kind and I may be the only one, but I really do belive good things come to good people, so I know you will be getting good things somewhere along the lines.
I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts.

Lynda, Laura, Marty, Lisa, Tonya and Jennifer. Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement and understanding! I'm at work right now and on a supperbreak so I thought I would leave a note of thanks. I appreciate so much your concern for me! It means so much to me. I promise that I am trying to take care of myself. I've been pushing instant breakfast and adding in protein where I can. I'm not making the calories I should but I have been getting in the protein the past few days. Still no appetite but I forced myself to eat the meat out of my frozen dinner tonight. I can't say I enjoyed it. *l* but I did eat it all. I did have a bit of good news though when I got to work and jumped on the scale. It looks like I broke that 2 week plateau and dropped 5 pounds since I weighed last Thursday. Hopefully its not because I'm not eating, that isn't the good way to lose.
Well I better get back to my patients. Just wanted to thank you all SO MUCH!! You all made me feel very loved and cared about. It helps!

Beth,
It sounds to me like you are doing the best you can. You will get past all this and on to easier times. I don't know for sure about your sudden dropped pounds, but can tell you that mine frequently works that way. I often would go 2-3 weeks with no or little loss, then a jump like that. Don't sweat it.....just remember that when you feel better, to eat healthy and work your way back up......your metabolism will jump start itself again when that happens. Hang in there.

When it rains it pours!!! I bet the stuff with your daughter has you even more upset than going through your own biopsy. I hope this passes without event and life gets back on a more pleasant track. You have lost a tremendous amount in a short time. It is just a little pause. It will pass and life will be good again. We are here.
