Run Forrest Run!!!
I never thought I would ever feel good enought to ever run again but it has happened. I ran 2 miles two days ago. I know 2 miles is no big deal but it was the first time I have tried to run in earnest since having the suregry. It was awesome. The feeling of my big ol size 14 Nikes slapping the street with the arms pumping and the sweat and the whole deal was fantastic. I really felt great... until the next day. Have you ever done a really tough lower body workout and then felt like you were 85 years old the next day? I mean I can only take like 6 inch steps and forget sitting down and standing up, it's torture. So it looks like I've still got a long way to go. I am going to talk to the guy at GNC and see if he can reccomend any supppliments that will help me recover quicker than 2 days! Y'know what? It was worth the pain, the feeling of running and not feeling like I was going to die was a huge HIGH.

Geez - 2 miles is great!! My trainer just started to incorporate running into my schedule, and I love it. Even with a good sports bra, though, the boobs hurt to run too much. Right now I am only on the treadmill running at 6 mph for 1 minute every 2 minutes for about 30 minutes. Not sure what mileage it is, but I ran in the park the other day with a friend and probably did about 3/4 mile...yep I hurt like the dickens the next day, but it is a GOOD hurt

Great job. I can't imagine running 2 feet let alone 2 miles. Running isn't my thing, but i admire those who can do it.

Danniboi, you're amazing! You might try glucosamine & chondroitine (?). I'm very impressed with the 2 miles.

You ran 2 miles and you weren't being chased? That's an interesting concept.

I have just restarted "run" training, 1 minute run and 4 minutes walk, but I can barely get to 5 mph. I hope it is because I'm so darn short! And I still have 84 pounds to lose, I guess I shouldn't forget that!! But Whitney, you're impressing the heck out of me!
My goal is to run the "Kids Classic" with my students in May. It is 3 miles and I want to do it in 35 minutes. We'll see!
And, I've realized I need to buy new sports bras that are MUCH smaller. I'm losing in my feet, my face and my boobs. When this is over, I'm going to be one big but with attached arms and legs...
SO Danniboy - did you consider starting this running thing SLOWLY?? It can be so hard on your body, especially on pavement! Be careful! And congratulations!
