We ordered pizza tonight, and I thought the same thing. I gave $3. The guy looked at me like he expected more, but I just can't see doing it. Wait staff in a restaurant do not get min wage, since the governement figures in their tips, but delivery drivers do make min wage. For them to expect to get the same tips as a waiter or waitress who is running back and forth to your table with food, drinks, ..... and the mess we leave behind, well that is just silly.

I used to run my rear off for less than they do driving around delivering pizzas...so i have to agree with you.

$3 seems good.I have tried Pizza few times.I have not been able to finish a piece...but my pouch is fussy and always has been.Crazy to think I have not ATE pizza in almost 18 months.Can't eat salad yet either.

I always tip 5. The guys we get are young and look like they need the $.

$3 is PERFECTLY acceptable.
I have pizza every once in a while. I just barely eat one piece (of a small pizza).

In California, the wait staff does get min. wage.
but I think $3 is a good pizza tip

I usually tipped about $2 when I used to get pizza, unless I was rounding up in which case it might be a bit more-like giving him $15 for a 12 something order.

I just wanted to say that yes, I do still eat pizza. I have foregone the fattening meats now though.

Around here, when we used to order pizza, the tip was included in the delivery charge - plus we usually said keep the change - which was usually an extra 3 or 4 dollars.

It's amazing to think that I could have easily eaten at least half of a pizza all by myself, but ... I get SO full on 2 mini squares. It has to be thin crust as well, and I dont eat all of the crust either. I think I have had pizza 2 times since WLS. (3 months) whereas used to be at least once a week!

Okay, I don't feel as bad only tipping $3. We ordered Chinese last Friday night (dang I'm a great cook)...and I tipped $3 and the guy seemed happy with that. Maybe the other guy was just having a bad pizza day. Before anyone gets on my case about Chinese food...I only eat the Kung Pao Chicken...no rice or chow mein or egg rolls or fortune cookies....
