I haven't read any of the other responses yet, but I wanted to chime in.

My body looks alright. Not the same as a few years ago when I was this weight mostly because I screwed up and gained so much at once that I popped a bunch of new strech marks out. BOO! They are pretty faded now, but my stomach still looks ugly, but not too bad. My upper body looks good and luckily the boobs stayed and I'm very happy with them. I still have about 30 pounds to lose so it could all change in a few months. My legs looks ok, could use some toning. Overall my body doesn't look that bad at all for losing almost 80 pounds. I'm also still very young so the skin does tend to tighten up better than someone who has been MO much longer.

My Mom also had GBS and she's got the whole batwings and all. She needs PS pretty badly. I wouldn't be able to get PS because they say I should wait until after I have kids.

It'll all work out and I LOVE being this size with some wrinkles than being 305 with rolls :-)

My stomach looks alot like the ones in teh pictures. I carried a great deal of the 130lbs i lost around my stomach. I will definately need a tummy tuck. I am also getting a breast lift with small implants to fix my breasts as they look pretty scarry. All that said, i look pretty damn good in clothes!!!

I still look better than i did at 274!!!

I went through the ordeal to gain a better quality of life. I now only take 1 perscription, down from 4. I wanted to be able to do fun stuff with my family, bend over and tie my shoes, cross my legs, walk forever and not get tired, you get the picture. I am much older, my skin will be all over the place and that is fine with me.....and if it will bother any one then all I have to say is don't look.

AMEN, Lori!!!!

I'd be in deep trouble if I worried about the look of the excess skin that the 214 weight loss has on my very obvious bones!!!
I still have 28 pounds to goal, THEN we'll think about removing some of it...
A nip here, a tuck there, and a definite lift of my "40 longs"

The insurance has already told me they'd pay because there's SO much of it.... I have lots of documentation as to rashes from "skin on skin", even pictures, MINE, not someone elses used to get insurance approval as some have done.... those people and tbey know who they are, will remain nameless... got their surgery covered, but, used other peoples problem pictures to get it paid for..... I just can't go there.... why lie.... the truth will get us all in the end.... right, gang?
And, I agree with Lori, 100%, if people don't like the looks of the excess skin, they can turn the other way..... it's none of their business, if our "dripping candle" skin bothers them so much, then they have more problems that we do....

Well.... there's two sides to this... first I'm much more pleased with how I look now then how I looked before. Period. I didn't really mind how I looked before... at the time. Realizations came later for me. But in clothes you can't see all the imprefections as much. And I'm in clothes most of the time! That being said, my saggy skin, and pannus etc, make me still feel fat a lot of the time. I look in the mirror and realize if this or that was gone or over where it's suppossed to be, I'd look so much better. I find myself constantly pulling and tugging at things. Also, my stretch marks are so much more visable now... they are terrible. As are lot's of my other scars, but the lap scars aren't bad at allI'm looking into plastic surgery now.... but if I had to stay with this loose saggy smelly skin for he rest of my life, it's STILL completely worth every inch!

I am down about 90/95 pounds. I have always had an " apron" hanging down but now it is so much worse. It's funny you should ask this question , yesterday before my shower I took my camera upstairs and took a few 'before' pictures. I never liked to see myself naked because I was so big but now I look like a candle that melted ! Everything is hanging , so I don't plan on looking in the mirror much. I have always thought about getting a boob lift only if it helped with my back problems. Hopefully when I get my hernia taken care of some of the extra skin will also be removed. I don't regret the surgery because I feel so much better, the skin will have to wait..

I just told my friend yesterday that if I took off my excess skin I would be normal, almost even thin.......and that is saying a lot because I have trouble seeing that on myself. So, in that way it bothers me. Who wants to be a size 6 with a roll? But absolutely it is better than a 22.......with a more solid roll!
