Default Help!

My husband had gastric bypass surgery alittle over a year ago. He did really well. He lost 80 pounds but for the past 3-5 months he has been stuck and he has not lost anything. He is a workaholic and doesnt exercise as much as he should...his eating habits are in the middle...he doesnt eat too bad but not great either....I want to support him but I am not sure what to do...can anyone help?
Thanks

I think your concern is great. How much more does he have to lose?? I think if he still wants to lose more, just remind him of the basic rules. It has to be on his terms. Have him re-evaluate his food intake, exercise etc. I hope he uses this precioius time in the first two years to his advantage.

Default Well...

Well he has not set a goal so I do not know how much he thinks he should lose. THe doctor said a specific weight but he is built big so he will never be super skinny not that I want him to be. but in my opinion I think 50-75lbs more. I suggested doing a diet with him but he was like I do not have to be on the diet...I just want to motivate him with him not thinking that I dont love him or love the person he is.

You know after a year its harder to lose the weight depending on his starting weight.I lost most of my weight the first 8mo.Is he taking his measurments?? Even thought the scale may not move he may be losing inches.
He may need to change up his diet..add more for a bit then go back to the his normal diet, that may help....

How sweet you are to be so concerned for your hubby. Dyann is right that he has to do it on his terms and for him....

Default Don't forget

Protein first......and water..water...water...
It will be a year for me the end of September. I have just upped my protein intake and hope this does the trick....I am down a couple of pounds this week. Good Luck to your hubby.

It's gonna be hard if he's not exercising and eating just right. He's lucky you are so concerned, but I dunno that there is much you can really do. If he's happy with the weight loss he's had and is relatively healthy then I guess that'll have to do.

Most men lose 100 lbs in the first 3 months from what I see on here. Women lose slower.....still gets me! lol. I am surprized your hubby hasn't lost more. A guy on the forum had WLS the same day as me and he is down 170 or something and I am at 110. Your hubby should start tracking what he eats. Sometimes if you write down what you put in your mouth and seeing it in black and white can be a good wake-up call.
