I had my TT!!
Well I did it I had my TT with LBL , lipo and hernia repair on June 8th and well it has been 3 weeks I feel great I guess my scars look better than I expected. I finally got to lay on my side again last night all though it hurt like hell when I got up I was stiff as a board. I went to see doc yesterday and he said it looks good I do have one little spot that is open and yucky but he said just keep cleaning it and putting my cream on it. I go back to work on july 10th and really not looking forward to it I know everyone is going to say ok the boss is back all the work is hers and think that is it but it is not I cant unload the truck and do all the heavy lifting and things yet that my job calls for and Inventory is the 13th so I get to feel like a dumb ass becasue I am the boss and I wont be able to do much I hate to watch people work and not do it my self. Sorry I know I started to bable old habits die hard I guess. Any way any one hear of a reverse TT? I asked my doc about getting my arms and breast done for later and asked about the little bit of puffy skin still there under my breast and he said I would need a Breast lift with implants a reverse TT to get that skin under my breast then a cut on my back to get the skin still on my back and he wouuld also do my batwings.he priced it at 17,850.00 I thought that was a bit toooo much. He did my sisters breast lift with implants and did her bat wings and he pulled her back skin and under breast skin up and charged her 14,000.00 so why so much the difference I dont understand that. He did not say anything about a reverse TT for her and did not charge her for one either. Any thoughts on that???? Thanks sorry so long.

I have been thinking of having the TT, but honestly I am more terrified of that than I was the wls. Maybe it has something to do with all the issues I had with the wls. I also have been seeing awful things on talk shows lately on how people have indured nightmares and even died over a simple tt or breast implant. I don't know is it worth all that. Am I still possible living the trauma of the wls??? and how can someone afford 17,850 for all that when the wls and all the hospital stays sent us to the poor house..... No kidding by the time I was done with university of chicago we owe them over $300,000. thats not counting the local hospital stays in my home town from all the problems... I don't know if we could financially or physically indure all that again, whats your take on all this???? do they give you statistics of success v/s failure rates???? hmmm I just don't know

Congrats on the TT. Take it easy when you go back to work, I am sure it will be hard but it is for the best. The reason the price he gave you may be more due to the fact that plastic surgeries are in higher demand now. Maybe his price list has gone up since then.

I went yesterday for my plastic surgeon consultation and was quoted 13,300.00 for a breast lift, implants as well as the removal of the skin in my upper arms. this covers the drs fee, the hospital fee, o.r. fee, anesthesia, etc. It seems like a pretty good price compared to a couple of others i have been to so far.

Well the price was for the or the anesisa(sp?) and to stay at the hospital for a day which I guess with that in mind it is a good price I talked to my sister and she said It is probally becase I have a lot more skin to take off than her. I was 326 and she was 250 so I was a lot bigger than her so I guess from that point of view I cant fuss over the price difference. For the one question I saw.. the way I affored the TT was my hubby borrowed money off his 401k to pay for most of it and the other half I penny pinched for 4 months and put most of my work checks away to save for it . Ofcouse we have to pay the money back but it will taken out of his check every week for I think 2 or 3 years I forget which. they are only taking like $60 a week so that is why so long. Other wise we could have never affored it. As far as getting my arms done I will be penny piching again this time for 6 or more months to TRY and save enough money. My sister was back to work in 2 weeks with no problems and I think I did BETTER as far as recovery with my TT than I did with my WLS. When I has Wls my inscion split open and would not close and got infected and doc kept saying would heal on its own to leave it I inored him and taped it closed and kept it clean and becase I taped it closed in a week after that it healed so not all docs know best at all times. I had my appendix taken out 4 months after WLS it erupted on me while at work and I got a Really bad infection that would not heal and had to go to doc 3 times a week for like 6 weeks to have it clean and packed but It healed nicely so It all depends on the doc. I saw first hand how the Plastic surgen was I watched his work thru my sisters surgery and he was amazing he went beyond his duty with her so tha is why I picked him and I must say he did do a great job on me I was scared and was expecting the worse after watch all those plastic surgey before and after shows and I was worried for nothing. I do have two small spots that still need to heal but the rest is already healed and to the point that you can hardly see the scar. So I hope that your bad expericene from Wls surgery will not make you not do plastics later. Some people are lucky and their insurance pays for plastcs I was just not one of those lucky ones so you never know. My insurance did how ever pay for my WLS and for my emergancy appendix. So keep your chin up and big hug to ya :-)

Had the TT with hernia repair and after 3 months can say it was worth it!!!
I paid 10k for what the insurance did not cover.
I am still deciding on the breast ift, quoted 7500k fort hat.
During the tt I also went around to get the love handles, almost got the thigh lift 5500k but did not get it after all.
as far as work goes, I also have a physical job, it is hard but you will have no choice.
It really is hard to keep from lifting and moving stuff, I am a visual mercandiser for a large furniture store, so it was a challenge. Bosses get the lifting requirements from the Doc, but still ahve the same expectations.
You need to do it though, tahe it easy or you will pay for it later. Sometimes I think that is why I got the hernias in the first place. Lifting after the weight loss surgery was not too smart, my huess is you were lifting too soon, also!
Good luck, remember it really hurts, more than I imagined it could. More than wls. But the results are unreal!!

Yeah I went and unloaded truck only 4 weeks after wls I think that is why I got the hernia but my doc said it was an insicial hernia that well 4 months after wls my appendix erupted and that got all infected and took forever to heal and close up and doc said it was becasue of the appendix and that it was on the inscion of that but I think part of it was unloading the trucks . I went back to work 4 weeks after appendix and started unloading truck agian...Not to smart I know I am not going to did it this time around even if I have to hand cuff myself to a register to prevent me from going into the stock room

I am looking into GBS in South Africa
Hi Everyone!I've been reading all your comments, its great, THANKS A MILLION!!! I have a friend who went to Dr Johan Vermaak and lost 30 kg is under 4 months!! She paid about R70 000 for the op which I will pay but I was wondering if these Doctors do this operation if your BMI is under 35, as I was doing research in South Africa and they are only interested in very obese patients!! But if I do not go for this op, I will be very obese by next year as I am picking up weight so quick!! Feeling a bit desperate!!!RegardsMel
