MakeMusic,
Cogratulations! At the consult they will talk with you as to why you want the prcedure. I think (can't remember) they weigh you and do measurements at that time. You will also be given your blue binder (Dr C's WLS bible) which you will need at every appointment and lecture. It is a pretty painless procedure. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Welcome aboard the most informative WLS site ever.

Consult went great!
Hi all! Took my friend with me! She had the surgery with Dr. Callery about 6 years ago, but had some serious post surgery difficulties. I felt it made sense to take her with me, so that she could bring up any questions that I might forget. As it was, it went very well. Kelly is great! Very informative and supportive! Got all my stats, the tests I need get done so I can take them to my PCP, a referral for a good therapist and my id# and password to keep track of test results progress! Depending on how fast the results all come in, I'm planning on March or April for sugery!! I'll keep you posted!

MakeMusic,
Congratulations on your consult. One suggestion as you are getting the list completed, make sure you follow up with the paper work and make sure it makes it into your Dr.s file for you. I wasted one month waiting for my blood work to make into the file, I had to hand carry it in. I was told it was faxed three times by my PCP, when I called Dr. C's office, they never got it - 3 times. Get copies if you can of everything. Usually your PCP gets everything first. I wish you a speedy process.

Congrats
I'm glad your consult went well. Like Kim said you may want to walk the tests in yourself if you can. That is what I pretty much did and it went quick for me. If you get your tests done and in, then you could be looking at a surgery date before the new year!!! Congrats again..
