Default Say Cheese

Okay, I am almost 8 weeks post-op now. I am still having trouble with keeping down meat based protein, the only thing that seems to stay down is cheese. Only problem is, the only thing I want to eat is cheese. Am I heading for a problem by eating it 2-3x a day? I usually eat it as a snack between meals. Anybody else have a cheese obsession? I really do not want to eat it too often but its convenient and agrees with the pouch.

I LOVE CHEESE & its got lots of protein - but i dont know how cheese can be bad for you - i think eatting a lot of crackers may be bad but do you eat crackers with yor cheese all the time? i limit myself to 2 crackers with a stick of cheese - so i want to know from old timers isnt cheese ok?

Cheese is a great source of calcium and protein, and it has been one of my staples since surgery. The only problem is that cheese can be binding, and constipation can be an issue for some post-opers. As long as you are chewing the cheese completely and you are staying regular, you should be just fine.

Default cheese

from someone three years out who has maintained their weight cheese is fine. i have it 3 or 4 times a day myself since the beginning. the only thing is cheese does have a lot of fat so i try to split it between reguar cheese and low fat cheese to decrease the amount of fat.

Default Cheesehead here, too

Yep - cottage cheese for breakfast every day, and one snack a day is always cheese. When I have to run out the door instead of sitting down to eat dinner, I just grab a couple of low-fat string cheese - three ounces is 27 grams of protein. I do take prenatal vitamins which have docusate to keep me regular, so I don't know if it would bind me up without. High-fat cheeses make me ill, so I strictly stick to low-fat...

If it wasn't for low fat cottage cheese, part skim milk mozarella string cheese, and regular cheese sticks (conveniently 1 oz a piece), I think I'd go nuts! I love me some cheeeeeese!

Default Loving cheese

Cheese is how I get a lot of my protein in. And it is quick and easy to eat. I get afraid that I will get constipated so I have been cutting back some.
