Default When did u start salads.......& I got a good idea for a good drink!!

When did you all start with salads...my doctor said 5 -6 months post but I was wondering if anyone started sooner and how do u handle it? I love salads..and I would love to eat some soon!! Plus....I got an idea for all....FUZE drinks..(bought a case w/ 12 in it at Costco....) they are so good....flavors r ...straw melon, cran rasp, trop. punch, and tang. grapefruit....only 20 carbs in each 18 oz bottle...and 2 gram sugar ...NO FAT,,,and the best part..they also give you engery!!! Hope u will try one and love them as much as me!!!

Isn't 20 grams of carbs a little high? I might be wrong as I haven't gone over with my doctor yet the daily limits of things like carbs and sugars, so please forgive me if I am incorrect

Although (per my doc in OKLA) I was eating little bits of salad a month after surgery, I say go with what your doctor says. That's important... you don't want to mess up your innards! We all know what it's like to crave things we can't have, but try to focus on what you can eat.

Good luck!

Ok.. I highly recommend you follow your doctors instructuions but I was told to wait until I was between 4-5 months post-op but I started eating salad when I was about 3 months out. I started craving them too. I am still in love with salads. If you do try a salad make sure it is at home and chew, chew chew.

Wow, my doctor said I could try eating now. I'm 8 weeks out. I tried a tiny bit last week from Olive Garden. No problems.

You guys get so much more on eating than I do. My doc says start to eat puree after a few days, then progress to all foods by 8 weeks...BUT listen to you body - it will tell you what you can eat. He is not fond of milk and suggests we not drink it.

If you find that you have a high tolerance and little problems with most foods I believe you can try salads sooner, I started them at 8 weeks, and that's basically all I eat. Yum!

I started eating salad at 8 weeks out and I am still eating it. Have no problems with it whatsoever, in fact it is one of my favorite things to chow down on!!
