Default Feta cheese?

Does anyone know if this a pasturized cheese? I need to be careful with things that may not be right now but I am making a grocery list for hubby and don't want to add it if it's not. Would it say so on the package?

Thanks Dale, I called the grocery store and the deli guy told me the package said that it is made with pasturized milk. But I do remember something about soft cheeses and I think feta was one of them , having the possibility of listeria. I am going to pass for now. It will still be around after the baby comes.

Forgive me, I am not a mom yet, what effect does pasturized food have on the baby?

All cheeses sold in America is pastuerized. It's a federal regulation. Only way to get "real" cheese is to visit Europe or have a chef sneak some in.

Not all cheeses are pasturized, especially the blue cheeses (gorgonzola etc.) You are right to avoid these with the pregnancy. Feta can be made with cows milk or sheeps. I believe the sheeps isn't pasturized. One of my husband's and my favorite things to do is to go to the local gourmet cheese store and get a sampling of new cheeses and sit outside with a bottle of wine. Can't do that right now 2 weeks post op, but hopefully one day.

I think even though it is pasturized I was told to stay away from soft cheese like feta and brie etc. due to listeria, not sure if I spelled that right. So I will just have to hold out until baby comes.
