I remember reading that too. I can't remember the science behind it though. I slowed down this past month, which was my 3rd month.....but I knew it had to happen. I also started building muscle at Curves, so my measurements and body fat changed a lot for 7 little lbs (funny how now that seems little......when it's the size of a newborn baby ). lol

I am having a hard time tolerating anything at all, So when I do find something I can tolerate I stick to it as much as possible. So far it has been tomato soup, As for protein, protien can be found in more than just meats, try cheese, skim milk (8) oz, of protein in an 8 ounce cup. Cottage cheese has protein, dried beans, lentils, even nuts. Try many different types before sticking to just one, that you no longer can tolerate later. I learned this the hard way. I to had surgery in August, went in weight 247lbs 3 months and 12 days later, I am weighing in at 164lbs. Good luck to you and if I can be of any help, feel free to call on me. I have kept all my nutritional information from my nutritionist, which I follow to a "T"

Any fish is great! If you have a Red Lobster, you MUST try the half-portion Alaska King Crab legs!!! Perfect size portions for post-GBS, all the protein, and a little fat if you use the drawn butter. That's one of my favorites!

It may have been mentioned earlier in this post (I know Marty swears by it), but Unjury Unflavored protein powder is terrific. I haven't had surgery yet, but have ordered protein to try pre-surgery. I just got my Unjury today, plopped a scoop (20 grams of protein right there) into a bottle of water and off I went. It was actually good, pretty tasteless, and you can sneak it into almost anything...

Ok, can you describe the difference in the types of crab legs? I always get Alaskan because I am familiar with them. I never tried Dungeoness or King.

King crab legs seem to be much more spiny than Snow crab legs -- and for me, tastes a little sweeter. Just remember the half portion -- here in VA it's like 2-3 legs and only $8. Dungeness are way too small.

I have to find some unflavored for a good price. Walmart has Body Fortress whey protein powder-that is really good. 20 grams of protein per serving-and the vanilla tastes great in the blender with some ice and some orange sunrise crystal light. I haven't tried the chocolate yet-but will soon. It's only $12. for a jar of 32 servings.

I like to take a slice of deli meat, a slice of cheese, a bit of mustard, roll it up and eat it. Depending on the meat and cheese you pick, you can get up to 20 grams of protein. Makes a nice meal for people 1-2 months out and a good snack for people like me, 6+ months out.
