Lightbulb Grams of protein

I came upon this info in a book I am reading. I hope you will find it useful;

FOOD / APPROX. GRAMS OF PROTEIN
Lean meat, poultry, fish-1oz. / 6
Tuna fish-1oz / 8 WOW!
One egg / 6 1/2
Milk-1oz. / 1
Cottage Cheese-1oz. / 5
Yellow cheese-1oz. / 6-7 Again, WOW!
Yogurt-8oz / 11

"Your entire body... muscle, bone, brain tissue, blood vessels, red blood cells, hormones and enzyems...just about every squiggle of you needs protein everyday to renew itself and go on living. The nutritionists say you also need minerals, vitamins, a little fat, some smidges of carbohydrates (natural ones like the sugars and starch in fresh fruits), and that's about IT. Very likely you eat some of the good stuff everyday, but that wont shine your eyes. When you fill up even part of you on hamburgers, root beer floats, sauces or vegetables with the life cooked out of them, you take up valuable space thats NEEDED by the builders. And it takes a mess of builders to keep you running efficiently. If you starve your body long enough for vital supplies and cram it full of gook, you can develop a severe vitamin, mineral or protein deficiency."~ The Shape Your In

This little bit of advice is what I need to get me through day by day.. I hope it helps you too if you need it.

Light salad dressing 37 cal. 3 fat 2.5 carb 0 prot.

Snack
Mozzarella stick 80 cal 5 fat 1 carb 8 prot.

Lunch
Tuna, Canned 194 cal 1 fat 0 carb 43 prot.
Light salad dressing 37 cal 3 fat 2.5 carb 0 prot.

Snack
Melon 1cup 57 cal 0 fat 14 carb 1 prot.
Mozzarella Stick 80 cal 5 fat 1 carb 8 prot.

Dinner
Beef, stew meat 1cp 313 cal 15fat 0 carb 42 prot.
Green beans 1/4cp 11 cal 0 2 carb 1 prot.

mary,
based on what you're eating you're eating about 900 calories a day. how can you be eating so little and not still loosing weight . i eat like 1800 calories a day and it's still hard to maintain my weight and not loose. i also exercise 7 days a week. are you sure you're eating enough.

Default Melanie

Melanie,
I beleive that I have the worlds slowest matabolism I am eating 5 times a day, and eating until I am satisfied. I am not losing or gaining weight and I run 5 days a week. Kelly has given me the ok to stay where I am at, if I start to lose I will supliment, but right now I am stable. I swear I track everything that goes in my mouth and this is about average for me. The good thing is that I think Dr. C made my pouch smaller than normal cuz I still can't eat more than a cup of solid food.
