Default Protein Powder Question

I read somewhere that you should not put protein powder in hot drinks. However, I also read on the Unjury website that you can put the powder in 130 degree water.
I am wondering if I could put vanilla Unjury in a non-fat decaf latte from Starbucks if I have it made at 110 degrees... which I normally do?
If so... I am beyond excited!

Yes, you could put protein powder in that.

Most protein powders say they should not be added to drinks hotter than 130 degrees. Some are considered heat stable, though, and you can put them in anything you want or even bake with them. The thought is that heating the others might damage the protein. Although I'm not sure that is really the case. However, most do not heat all that well. They tend to clump up when you add them to hot drinks.

The best way to put protein powder in a hot drink is to put a little lukewarm water in a cup and add the protein powder and stir it to make a paste. Then add that to your hot drink.

Though there may be other brands that are heat stable, the only one I know that can be heated above that temp is a brand called "Any Whey" by optimum nutrition. I know you can find it from several online merchants, I buy mine at amazon.com. It's an unflavored powder, though I'd like to note that unflavored does not mean 'flavorless!'

Its the one I use, when I need protein powder.
