My Ninja was a special buy at Sam's it was a bundle, and I only paid $49 for it, and yes I can do single sized smoothies. Like I said though I do love my magic bullet. So you wouldn't go wrong there. Go to Bed Bath and Beyond use there 20% off coupon. Thats what I did. Let me know which one you pick.

I just use a regular blendar because I am cheap also. I do have a shaker cup from iherb.com that I use for my protein shakes. I really like it.

I bought one and it came in handy for the small quanties of purees I needed the first 10 days after surgery. I works with ice, but isn't as great as I had hoped. I don't really use it for shakes as I find that it wips too much air into everything, doubling the volume. I have used mine maybe 10 timess.

Default Love my Bullet

My Magic Bullet is one of the best gifts I've purchased for myself. I prefer it over the regular blender. Regular blender it seems there is so much room for all the liquid/powder/ice to fly around that there are always chunks of ice floating in my shakes. The Bullet seems to minimize that 'flying around' and makes a smoother drink. It was a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. My mom gave me a cheaper version for my birthday one year...and it is just as good. I have one at work, and one at home.
