Default Sauces

I have been eating mostly chicken for protein - sometimes ground beef or pork, but I am so bored and lazy with it!! I usually put cheese and salsa on my chicken but I was thinking some sauces might be nice to mix it up some.

Does anyone have some suggestions for sauces? I would prefer something I can buy, but if it's simple, I could probably try to make something.

I am not into the soy anything, so I'm thinking more along the lines of creamy garlic and/or herb or something like pesto.

I know these types of sauces are usually fatty, but I would use it very sparingly and just on occassion to break up the monotony, so I'm not too concerned about that.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, please post!! And thanks in advance!!

I used to get a good pesto sauce to put on pasta. Which I never have anymore. And I can't remember the brand. But it was in a little paper packet in the section with the gravy mixes. It was a powder that you mix with some olive oil and water. It would probably be good on chicken.

I will have to look for that! I got some fresh pesto in a dairy case or somewhere once myself and can't remember where!! It was in a small container, not a jar but so far I haven't found it again. I have never looked for pesto in the powder mixes, though - thanks!

I like Lawry's Marinades as a sauce. I just add a tablespoon or two. and at just 10 cals/tbsp, it's good stuff.

I don't eat meat but DH likes it on chicken and pork etc., and I like it on fish and vegetables.

Our favourites so far are the Dijon & Mustard, Havana Garlic & Lime, Herb & Garlic, Lemon Pepper, Mesquite, Sesame Ginger.
