Protein bar
So I got some protein bars from Cost co & they have 30 grams of protein in them. I'm eating one now and its pretty dang good! Serving size is 1 bar Total fat 7g, Sat. fat 3.5g, trans fat 0, cholesterol 10mg, sodium 420mg (kind of high), potassium 190 mg, carbs 23g, dietary fiber 1g, sugar 8r, protein 30g. Oh yeah calories is 280 its a good change from a protein drink all the time. Its called Premier nutrition.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm curious as to what the cost was at CostCo.
Online, I found it for $25.30 for 12 (2.5 oz) bars (that comes out to $2.10 per bar, which, I guess, can be OK as a meal replacement, considering the calories). It sure would be nice if it could be around $15 or so.

It'd be nice if lots of things were less expensive. Of course in our search for the lowest price, the cheapest price for products, we've shipped the production of goods outside of the US in such significant numbers that we've lost an enormous amount of jobs, some of which will never be replaced.
Heaven forbid we pay a fair price for a product so that those of us in the US* can make a living wage.

Jeanie.. thanks for the tip on the protein bars. I don't have a costco near me, but I'm in need of something for that times like tomorrow when I'm traveling so it's always nice to hear a good review. I might look to see if I can find them elsewhere.

Sweetie, I'm saying that it's not in my budget at this time, that $15.00 would suit me best. I'm sorry I got you all riled up over outsourcing - Gosh! Heaven forbid!

It's fairly easy for me to get riled up over outsourcing, considering my job is now being done by some nice lady in China these days. Last I heard the majority of those that worked in the MA production line at that facility are still not working, and those of us that were in the office have fared only *slightly* better, though my prospects here in VT seem to be preeeetty slim.
*sigh*

Kel and I found one shopping yesterday that is SUPER yummy. It tastes just like a "Pay Day" candy bar. Yes, Kel liked it too.
Rockin' Roll Nutty Peanut (serving is one bar but the thing is HUGE. It'll take me a week or two to eat it...lol)
Calories 290
Cals from fat 150
Total fat 16g
Saturated fat 3.5g
Trans fat 0g
Cholestrol 5mg
Sodium 350mg
Potassium 150mg
Total Carbs 25g
Diatary Fiber 6g
Sugars 2g
Protein 21g
Ingredients: dry roasted peanuts, soy protein isolate, milk protein isolate, wey protein isolate, calcium casseinate, whey protein concentrate sodium caseinate, maltitol, geltin, polydextrose, glycerine, fractionated palm kernel oil, peanut flour, gum arabic, lecithin, butter, natural and artifical flavors, sucralose, potassium sorbate.
It was $2.85 for one bar at Vitamin World and it's from the makers of Lean Body. I'm going to get some more that I can toss in my purse for those days when I'm out running.

Hey Jeanie,
What is that bar called? I get a bar from Rite Aid (in the GNC section) by Premier Nutrition. The bar is called Titan 6 Layer Crunch Bar. OMG, it is soooo good! It is honestly the best protein bar I've ever had...it's like eating a candy bar and it does not taste "proteiny" at all (if you know what I mean)! They also sell them on the GNC website, but it is like twice the size of the bar that they sell in the Rite Aid stores. Anyway, here are the nutrition facts:
1 bar (1.4 oz)
Cal 160
Total Fat 6g
Total Carb 16g
Dietary Fiber <1g
Sugars 2g
Sugar Alcohol 9g
Protein 13g
Anyway, I'm just wondering if it is the same bar? I think Premier Nutrition makes several different kinds of protein bars...but if they are selling these at Costco now, then I want to get them there instead of Rite Aid!
Oh, and I almost forgot...these come in two flavors...Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch, and Cookies and Creme. Both flavors are Excellent!

Hey Jeanie
I went to Costco this weekend and I was looking for the protein bar that you posted about. I didn't see anything at my Costco by Premier Nutrition. Do you have a picture or anything more that you could post about it? I would like to see if I can get my Costco to carry it.
Thanks a bunch
Judy

Thanks for the info on protein bars. I've been trying to figure out which ones to get for the days that I'm running around town. This helps a lot!

I will look tonight when I get home and see. I know the box is mostly white with black writing on it. I'll try and take a picture and have my husband download it. I don't remember how much we paid for them but it was 20 something for 24 bars. I'm pretty sure it was less then a buck a bar. I forgot to crab one today.
