Popcorn?
I'm about 7 months out, and doing really well with my weight loss and diet. I do allow my self treats everynow in then (very small treats) to keep my sanity. My treats often include peanuts, mini fruit roll ups, and the occassional very tiny piece of cake with no frosting (mostly if their a party and i don't want to seem rude, lol)... but i am wondering about some other snacks...
like popcorn? We were gonna go to the movies this weekend, and i was wondering if I can eat popcorn? If so, i'm saving my "treats" for a few days so i can enjoy a handful on sat. Is it too rough for a pouch? can it be chewed well? Has anyone else ate popcorn successfully or had problems? I don't want to try it unless I've heard from others they were ale to eat it. My diet plan i got from my nut/dr doesn't say anything about popcorn.

I dont have any trouble with popcorn....100 calorie packs are a good way to go. I buy other treats in the premade 100cal packs too you can find almost anything in them now. I also allow myself treats. But unlike back in my old diet days....one of my 100cal treats is enough I dont defeat the purpose by pigging out on 4 LOL. Now, one satisfies me fine

this is exciting to hear! I missed popcorn. It seems that it would make a good salty snack when you're feel a bit naughty. lol. I've had to focus my mind away from those tempting little baggies of chips... the 100cal packs so just right. Whenever i do eat something bad, i try to keep it to only a couple bites.

Just be careful with those couple of bad bites here and there, cuz in a couple of years when your weight loss stops. This will make it easy to put on the pounds. Just a word of warning.

My dietician said popcorn was fine for a snack. If you're buying it at the movies, you might want to ask for it without butter.

OMG popcorn.. it was an addiction before surgery.. and still is one! LOL i limit it to one bag per week or I'd eat it everyday. I eat the 100 cal bags most of the time. If i pop a whole one I break it up into 2 days. I started eating popcorn 2 months out. I love it and it doesnt do anything to me,

I've eaten the 100 calorie packs with no problem and it's a good source of fiber too.
But I avoid the movie theatre stuff at all costs because it's generally popped in coconut oil.
Unless you can limit the stuff (and I can't), this is what you'll get and it's the lowest calorie/fat one I can find:
AMC Movie Theatres®
Movie Popcorn, Kid's size (5 cups) - unbuttered
300 calories
20g fat
...14g saturated fat
Movie Theatres aren't know for their healthy snacks so I take my own - a few nuts in a plastic baggie, a 100 calorie bag of popcorn put into a plastic bag - stuff that won't draw attention with rustling cellophane.
