Default Tofu Recipe's

Since soy is such a good source of protein I'm wonder if you wouldn't mind sharing your favorite way of using Tofu.

Scrambled Eggs & Tofu
1 tablespoon margarine/butter
6 oz. tofu
2 eggs, lightly beaten Salt and Pepper

Melt the butter in a skillet. Add the tofu and mash. Saute until lightly browned. Add eggs and scramble to your liking. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Can also be sauteed with a variety of other ingredients like chives, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, etc.

What does plain tofu taste like? Anything like cheese?

It doesn't really have a taste on its own. You can give it flavor by cooking it with other things. Also, they have flavored varieties now that are quite yummy-sundried tomatoe and roasted garlic is really good. The hardest thing to overcome with tofu is the consistency not the flavor but it's not like cheese (my opinion). You just gotta give it a try. I buy the flavored ones and just brown them in a non-stick skillet or I add it to salads. Of course it is wonderful in stir fry.

Come on now....Don't just post "it's yummy" and "added to other stuff".

There are people out there that have no idea how to use Tofu so post a recipe.

Thumbs up Tofu Fajitas

Tofu Fajitas...
I like cooking with firm tofu the best.
All you do is cut the tofu into strips along with peppers, mushrooms and onions. Spray a pan w/ pam and go to town I use traditional fajita/taco seasoning and add a little of my own. I use wheat pita bread or whole wheat tortillas...I should actually say tortilla
