Default Popcorn question

I have been eating a LOT of popcorn lately. I am nearly at goal weight, and added in the popcorn at night as a 4th "meal" - or bedtime snack. I eat the Redenbacher's SMART POP, KETTLE KORN. I eat the WHOLE BAG: 280 calories, 58 carbs, 12 fiber, 8 protein. The bag is about the size of a basketball when it is all popped. It is actually two servings, but it is the only thing I eat that may not be on anyone's lists of goo stuff.

Anyway .......my question is this: If my pouch only holds a cup, WHERE IS ALL THAT POPCORN GOING? I have been worried that maybe I have stretched out my esophagus and now have an 18 inch long pouch. Does anyone know what happens to all that popcorn?

Thanks guys!

I am one year and 3 months out from RNY.

Rose

Long time no see Rose!!

Put one piece on popcorn in your mouth. See how it dissolves to practically nothing?? Thats why you can eat so much. It "melts" down to nothing. I can eat a 100 cal popcorn bag and probably eat anthoner right after, just never tried. I love popcorn! Its a healthy snack!

Good to know as I've actually wondered if I'd be able to eat popcorn after surgery as I love it now for a snack in the afternoon.

The "better for you" popcorn is always the least tasty.. So a couple ways to improve on that is spray "I can't believe its not butter" or one of the powder popcorn seasonings.

I put blue cheese on it. I layer it then re-microwave it for 25 seconds, then stir it up. Delish.

I found out the answer the not so fun way. I had popcorn last night and yes I ate the whole bag. I know it isn't smart but I put a couple semisewwt chips in the boul so they melted into the kernals well about 20 min later I was puking up..,.not popcorn but just the outer kernal. All the yummu white pophad melted and just the kernal was in my pouch. But it was a no fun situation. If you think those things are anoying when they get caught in your teeth........
