Default Refried Beans help!

omfg. both stores in town that sold Casa Fiesta Refried Beans pulled 'em this week, removed them from the database, and put something else in it's place on the shelf. supplier must've stopped selling them. just a few weeks before surgery grrr! i'm mostly vegetarian so I was gonna be depending on these a lot.

anyone know how to make them? i've never seen any pinto beans in this country. they really wanted tacos so I mashed up chili beans and diced tomatoes with taco seasoning but I don't think a baby pouch will like that much.

ideas? i might find something (black beans maybe?) at the oriental store but the normal stores only have kidney, chili, great northern, and white beans (tastes like pork and beans to me).

Here you go - plenty of recipes to choose from: Refried Beans Recipes

I've tried the slow cooker recipe - they were OK with some hot sauce and cheese put on the top.

Josephine,

I've yet to meet a bean I didn't like and that couldn't be used in place of something else.

Black and Great Northern are two I use most of. I use black beans with any Mexican recipe.

No Taco Bell Cassie lol

Joe.. Okay, I'll come home, but I'm not going to TEXAS!!

Corrine, thank you, you're lovely! I think I'll try to find some black beans and use them in the beginning and then try the chili beans later.

That is.. if the hospital EVER calls!! lol
