Default Protein drinks

I'm just curious how long each of you have continued to take protein shakes. I'm over 3 months out and I still take one every day. My paper work says that I could stop with the shakes after 8 weeks, but that I should continue with eating regular protein, of course. I was told to have at least 50 grams a day.
Just wondering what other docs/dieticians have told the rest of you.
I know we need protein, just wondering if the shakes are the best way to go. (Since I never feel hungry anymore!)
And STILL 50 grams a day? Need more/ less?

Yep, continue. Even at a year out, I can't eat enough natural protein in. I just do a scoop of protein in my morning shake. Then the rest of the dat it's fish, dairy, beans, or other protien sources. Nutritionaly, I believe the minimum needed is about 1 gram protein per kg of ideal body weight.

Ya pretty much will need to have protein shakes and protein bars to supplement the rest the of your life. I am excited about that fact. The fact that I can not possibly comsume all the protein I need in a meal. Thank you Jesus. I remember the days when I could eat 1/2 a chicken myself, sometimes the whole chicken and then I would start scopping out side dishes.

I just recently (today) became an herbalife distributor because I really love there protein shakes and bars. I figure my best bet is to join em. so if you need any type of protein drinks, bars or shake powerder addatives to add to potatoes or soup. Just let me know. They also have a great cream of chicken soup that has 13 grams of protein in one cup. It taste great too.

Lifetime choices is what it is all about.

They all taste awful to me. I use 100% Any Whey, which is food at GNC. It's the most palatable one I have found and you can mix it with anything. It's virtually tasteless, though still a bit on the gritty side. That's just the way protein is. I mix it with my mocha cappucino every morning.

My favorite Protein Powder is Matrix. Mixes clan and tastes good. I get mine from www.bariatriceating.com. I am 16 months out and I have a shake every day especially after my workout. It helps your body recover and my trainer has told me I need extra protein. All I know is 50 grams is not enough for me so that's why I suppliment. Shakes are a good thing. Exercise and protein builds lean body mass, that's what we want!

I have just about all of them and I like the herbalife ones the best. That is why I decided to start selling them. They are the first ones that I have had that agree with my stomache and I like the taste as well.

I am going to be having a shake party. Which simply means that we can get together and try different shakes and different recipes for shakes and ask a whole bunch of questions.

Let me know if you might me interested in attending a shake and protein bar party.

Ok, thanks for the info. Another question: How much protein do you guys strive to get in a day and how do you know if you are low on protein? Are there symptoms?
