Default PB2 (powder peanut butter)....my review

PB2 is powdered peanut butter. I've been reading Beth's (MiladyB) posts about it for awhile, but recently ordered some.

I just received it today, and I'm pleasantly surprised! It smells absolutely wonderful. I'm tempted to snort it like cocaine. <joke!> I put 1 tablespoon in a chocolate protein shake, and it tasted like a liquid Reese's cup. Mmmm, good!

Some of you might ask...why not just use regular peanut butter? Well, there's a huge difference in calories, fat, etc between the two. Most of the fat is removed during the processing of the PB2. Here's a comparison between 2 tablespoons of regular peanut butter (fresh ground natural), and PB2:

179 vs 53 calories
16g fat vs 2g fat
8g carbs vs 2g carbs
7g protein vs 6g protein

As you can see, the PB2 is significantly lower in calories, fat, and carbs. The protein is very similar to regular peanut butter...only 1g lower.

I'm anticipating mixing this in with protein shakes and Fage yogurt. I'm sure I'll find some other uses for it as well. You can actually mix it with water and make peanut butter, but I'm told that the texture is different.

I also bought a jar of chocolate PB2...haven't tried that one out yet though.

I bought this at Netrition.com. You can also buy it from the manufacturer's website at BellPlantation.com, but they have a 4 jar minimum order. Since I didn't know if I'd like it, I didn't want to order that many jars the first time.

Print your cart Kel...mine disappeared after browsing for a couple of days, and I had to find it all again, and re-add it.

I bought a small tub of BSN Lean Dessert Chocolate Fudge protein as well. Mmmmm, good! It mixes with water, and tasted awesome.

FYI...they have a few varieties of Monin SF syrup...same price, but bigger bottle than the DaVinci brand.

I love it.

My girlfriend's friend orders it all the time
Its light and fluffy,. I use to fold it into cool whip and have peanut butter creamy stuff, almost like peanut butter cheesecake filling.

Um um good.

I'm just not sure how I'll use it, so I don't know what flavors to get? I love hazelnut coffee so I know I'll add that.. but.. how would you use it?

Ha ha...I used to eat Cool Whip too, straight out of the tub. No wonder I ended up 125 lbs overweight!

Supposedly, the PB2 is very good mixed into Fage, with a 1/4 box of dry sugar free fat free chocolate pudding. That's going to be my breakfast tomorrow, so I'll be testing it out.
