Protein Water
How do we feel about it?
I bought some today just to see what was up. It has 5g of protein per serving (per about a 16.9oz bottle of water) but is made with sucrose. Post-op I am NOT a fan of sucrose and I can see that to get the rest of the drinks down, I will have to add extra water.
Anyone have opinions on whether or not it would be an asset to us? I was starving when I had it earlier and it didn't do anything plain water wouldn't do to curb my hunger. I got home and devoured a poor stick of cheese. It never saw me coming. :|
There's different flavors and stuff and I got the kiwi-strawberry. It tastes nice but I may have to call shinanigans.

I pretty much stayed away from it just because there was quite a bit of sugar in them and really not much protein. The packets that you add to water have less sugar in them though. I guess 5 grams protein is better than none but I just felt there were better things to be putting in my pouch that would give me more protein.

There's another protein water made by Stacker (yeah, the same company as the weight loss pills). It's a 16 or 20 oz bottle, has 20 grams of protein each, and costs around $2 each. I only bought it once, and could only find it at Rite Aid. It actually didn't taste too bad.

I used to use those kinds, Sherry, when I was earlier postop. Lately though I haven't been able to find them. There is another one out there but I can't remember who makes it. The grocery store where I used to by the Stacker is now carrying this other brand. It is still high in protein and personally I think it tastes better than the Stacker. I'll have to pick up another bottle of it and see what info is on it.

I bought the powder mix over the bottles. There are better things I'd rather stick in my pouch too, so I offered them up to share lol.
I won't buy them again.

I dunno.. IMO they're not really worth it. I'd rather eat a piece of cheese and sip some water.

Ok, found out what they were. I can buy these at my local grocery store. They don't give you as much protein as the Isopure of the Stacker but I think they tasted better than the Stacker. I found them over in the pharmacy area of my store with the protein supplements.

Personally, I didn't care for the flavor, but the isopure waters has a good protein number
Buy Isopure Plus Nutritional Drink - CWI Medical
they sell them in 8 oz bottles with 15 grams of protein and it's the 100% whey protein isolate.
My local drug store sells these in the 8 oz container six-packs a bit cheaper than they are here.. but still not a bad deal if you're early out and needing to double the bang for buck on fluids & protein.
