HELP!!!! I am sick of the same ol' things for my snacks and meals
I just had my check up with my surgeon and NUT and now that I am almost two months out, I have very few restrictions on the types of foods that I can have (still no citrus or pork chops etc). They also want me to continue to eat three small meals and three small snacks each day. Here is my problem, nothing tastes good anymore. I am so SICK of cheese and turkey and chicken lunchmeat. I do enjoy my artifical crab meat, but I cant seem to take the smell of fish. I am looking for ideas for meals and snacks. Currently I am doing one shake or protein bar a day to help get the protein in.

Aren't you only 5 weeks out from surgery??
Have you tried yogurt? Fage 2% has 17 grams of protien in one 7 oz container. At your stage, I'd probably only have 1/2 a container at a time.. mixed with 1/4 cup of kashi honey almond flax cereal- good crunch and would give you almost 10 grams of protein.
Many people liked beef jerkey
The crustless pizza (check the recipe section)
Chili- make it mushy if necessary
can you tolerate eggs? Eggs were a life saver early post op.

Okie dokie.. I don't know what was accusatory in that post, but whatever floats your boat. Not sure why I bothered to try to be helpful at all.
I guess you're still stinging from that post back before your surgery. I stand by what I said, but for me, I put that in the past.. if you can't get past it, perhaps it's because there was truth to it.
Whatever. I'll continue to respond, because though you don't find what I've said helpful, it might help others.

oh.. I just got what you found accusatory... I questioned the length of time since your surgery.
If you want accusatory, I'd have accused you of exaggerating. Instead, I just felt there was some confusion on my part and tried to clarify. Oh well. *sigh*

the point of this thread was to ask for help and advise within the parameters given to me by my nut and surgeon. The information, regardless of the amount of time since my surgery, is the same. I believe I said almost two months out, that is the terminolgy that my surgeon used and I continued his wording, I didnt bother to count the exact days since my surgery. I guess I now I understand the ignore feature and will use it to my delight!

Yay.. now I can respond helpfully, without worrying about you going off the deep end! Hopefully my words will help others, even if you don't find them so.

I dont understand why you have to hyjack my threads when I am asking for help and encouragment from the other kind people on this site. Obviously you have a thing against me, and have since I joined this site. I don't think I have ever done anything to you. I don't know why you can't just leave me alone and allow me to get advice from others who are trying to help me. I am not sure I have ever met such a mean, unkind, uncaring person in my life.

My very first reply was strictly trying to help. I don't know why you went off the deep end on me at *all*... if anything YOU hijacked your own thread!
Go back and read that first reply.. it had several helpful suggestions for other food to eat. Those are all foods I eat and enjoy on a regular basis and stand by those suggestions.
