Default Sugar free pudding variation

I used to make this years ago (when 'dieting') and it's actually pretty good. I made some recently to use up some jello I'd made and hadn't used up.

Make a flavor of sugar free jello you like, according to the instructions on the box.

Once the jello is set, mix up a box of sugar free pudding (chocolate, vanilla, whatever) with about half the milk (or soy milk) the box calls for, then mix in the jello with the pudding. Mix well to break up the jello (use a mixer).

I like the flavor combinations (lemon/vanilla, raspberry/chocolate) and I also like the slightly weird consistency, which reminds me of tapioca (which isn't everyone's favorite.) This "pudding" is more interesting than either pudding or jello alone, I think.

Edited 7-5-05:

1. Add some protein powder to the pudding mix - it'll make it more nutritious.

2. If you don't like the texture of chopped up jello in it, make the jello according to directions, but reduce the water and use ice cubes to make up the difference. When it's cool, mix it in with the pudding, whip it all together, and refrigerate until set.

Thanks Phil. I have quite a few boxes of pudding that have been in the cupboard since my surgery. That Raspberry/Chocolate really sounds good.

Hey Bridgetgirl! Thanks for asking. Things are going pretty well here. We're in the middle of packing our house to move. I think I'd rather have a root canal than pack up the house. We're moving to Pahrump, a small town 50 miles west of Vegas. I'm looking forward to living in a small town. It should be really nice. Our weight situation is pretty stable. Terry has been gaining weight because of the Prednazone she's taking. It's actually a small price to pay to fight her lung disease. We'll be coming to Scripps Clinic some time in November for a follow up. I'll see if we can time it right and be there for a support meeting. That would be fun.

We recently were looking to get a new Persian cat. We found a lady who was going out of business and ended up with a white male kitten with copper eyes and a 5 year old female breeder with blue eyes that we got for nothing. So we're now up to 6 cats. We had 2 Bengal cats but our daughter took them when she moved in with her boyfriend. You can see pictures if you'd like at: http://groups.msn.com/WoodysTreehouse/shoebox.msnw

Again, thanks for asking and I hope all is well with you.

Great pics Woody! Beautiful cats. Well I am happy to hear that things are going well for the most part. I am glad to hear that Terry is doing better.

Keep in touch, it would be nice to meet up in November! I dont usually make it to Poway for support group, but for you I will make an exception! Especially with all you have had to endure over the past year, I bet you and Terry could use a whole lot of hugs! Take it easy, best wishes with the move!

That actually doesn't sound half bad. I wonder if I could add some protein powder to it?

Woody,

I bet your house is quieter without the Bengal cats! They tend to run the place don't they? I only have one and he is all that I can handle. Not too many people around here with Bengals but I guess they are more popular in California.

Good luck with the move!

Thumbs up Pudding

I like mixing ProStat 64 Butter Pecan flavor into the pudding. It's tastes great and you get that extra protein that no other product seems to match. Enjoy!
