Default Nectar protein drinks

Hi all,

I read the thread on Nectar protein drinks and figured I'd give them a try so I logged on and purchased two. Nectar Fuzzy Navel and Nectar Very Cherry Berry. It cost me $58.00 for both.

My husband and I have tried the Fuzzy Navel and we've got on word to describe it........

.........BARF!!!!!!!

I haven't tried ther Very Cherry Berry yet (I'm afraid to!) I'll let ya know when I finally get the courage up to open it.

Oh no! I am so sorry you don't like it! It really helps me get my protein down. I got to where I couldn't stomach the chocolate anymore, so I tried the Nectar. I mix it with half water and half juice (orange, cranberry, whatever's in the fridge.)

I guess this proves that everyone has different tastes!

I really liked the crystal sky flavor. I can't tolerate milk so I need something I can use w/o the milk. Sorry!

Try the fuzzy navel mixed with sunrise orange crystal lite. Also, if you put the powder in the glass, add enough water to mix it smooth, then add water to taste...it is much better. I do that, let it sit a minute for it to smooth out more and then pour it over ice. I haven't had good luck blending it cuz it gets too foamy.

Hope this helps

Default i agree

i must agree with you peck. i tried the crystal sky flavor and i couldnt stand the smell of it let alone the taste of it! ugh yuck! i thought it would mix clear like crystal light but it didnt, i even put it in the freezer to make it really cold, but that didnt work either. i am still pre op and bought the atkins protein drink and i love them. no funky smell and its not chalky at all. 1 gram of sugar and 20 grams of protein. very gooood! i found it very cheap at walmart for like 3.49 every where else it was like 7.99. it is already pre mixed so all i do is pour it over ice.

Ya know I kept hearing before surgery that my taste buds would changed....They haven't nor have I lost my sense of smell. The smell of this stuff makes me want to barf!

I had been hoping, after everyone raved about the Nectar, that I wouldn't have a problem getting my required protein amounts so when I ordered I ordered 2 flavors....Had I had more money available at the time I would have ordered three or four flavors. Now here I sit with nearly $60.00 invested in this product and I can't get pass that horrible smell this product has!

I haven't tried the atkins protein drinks yet. I'll have to wait until this weekend when my daughter can take me shopping in Redlands. (Can't find the product here. I don't know if it's sold out.)

Don't bank on your taste buds changing like I did.

That'll teach me to keep my mouth shut about my food & drink preferences! I would buy them from you if I lived anywhere near you. Maybe someone around there will buy them from you.

Peckkale,

Thanks for the warning! I've been avoiding buying stuff ahead of time, so I don't end up with a bunch of yucky stuff. Fortunately I'm here in the San Diego area, so if I do get something I hate, I'll be able to get rid of it -- er, I mean share it with others.

Share it?! Oh baby I wouldn't wish this crap on my worse enemy! You lift the glass to your lips to drink and your stomach rolls. And it's not just me....I've handed a glass of this stuff to my husband, daughter and neighbors then roared with laughter at the look on their faces as they tried to get past the smell.

My husband swears it smells like moldy wet towel, (must be from his single days. I don't allow towels to sit around and mold) and my neighbor swears it smells like fuel....I can't put a title to the odor....It's just repelling.

I am calling the seller today to see if they will take this crap back.

Word of advice to all you pre-op's.......DON'T buy anything until you've first sampled it.

If the store doesn't take it back I'm out $58.00 + dollars

I'm sorry if you disagree with me.....All I can say is my doctor dissected my stomach. He didn't remove my sense of smell or taste buds....Those two items, unfortunately for me, are still intack and working....This stuff is nasty!
