Remember, it's not just having "breakfast" food, but having something nutritional with PROTEIN.

I live for the EAS Bars (in any super market or wallmart will have the best prices on sale at $1.00) my self and feel they have the best taste and nutrion content. My newest love (protein bar) is one from my childhood that had me fall on the floor when I recently realized it was a protein bar: TIGERS MILK bars.

Here is a post I posted way back in the day that might give you some ideas on things to have.

It's from back in Aug 2004 (WOW time has flown!) :

Here are some of my fav's/currently using protein items:

Cheese - Pepperjack (also is a snack if I feel like one) 1oz is 3-4 g of protein

Eggbeaters (1/4 cup=1 egg) 6g protein

Bacon (1-2 pieces cooked so it is very crisp) 2 strips are 6g protein

These last two are usually what I make for breakfast.

Drinks:

EAS Procision Protein - 20 oz, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 42 g protein, 170 cal. (only seen fruit punch or grape). I have half a botlle a day. Usually $25 for a 6-pack but wait til on sale, usually at 30% off.

EAS Myoplex Carb Sense - 10.5 oz, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 22g protein, 90 cal. Mixed berry. Usually $10 for a 4-pack

Bars:

CarbMinders Breakfast Bars - 1.3 oz, 6g fat, 14g carb (1g sugar), 13g protein, 150 cal. I like Apple Crisp but the also have Pecan Cinnamon. Ususally $5 for a box of 5

VitaminWorlds Symetry - 1.76 oz, 7g fat, 19g carb (9g sugar), 18g protein, 200 cal. They have Choc Fudge Brownie, Choc Coconut Truffle, Cookies&cream, Yogurt Honey Peanut (Ahem..these are the bomb!) and Choc Honey Peanut (this sounds good but they are discontinuing it.) Bars are about $1.20 individually or $17

(Vitamin World is a good store to get Vitamins and protein products and they have mega stuff on sale up to 50% off. You can join their free club and get savings on regular non-sale stuff. I got these bars @ 50% off for a box of 12 and paid like $7. This place is really good. www.vitaminworld.com is the web-site and they are in Plaza Bonita or Chula Vista Mall. Also for club members if you buy by the box you get 30% off unless in-store specials get you a bigger discount)

I just bought some EAS Advant Edge Carb Control bars, these look really good and nutritious (havent tried one yet).

2.12 oz, 5g fat, 19g carb (1g sugar), 26g protein, 210 cal. Many diff flavors.

Wallmart has them (vitamin world doent carry them but has almost all other EAS bars, there are about 5-7 diff EAS bars) for $1.63 a bar or you can buy a box of 4 for $5.84(some flavors have 50% more on box so you get 6 for the same price as 4) Carb minders are almost $8 for a box of 4 or 6 I don't remember.

Default Thanks for the ideas

I really appreciate all of the ideas. I did pick up a couple of advant edge carb control protein bars, some string cheese & bananas, and cottage cheese & jelly, bacon, yogurt and peanuts. I can officially eat "real" foods starting tomorrow and look forward to trying some of these ideas.

We have a little cafe downstairs at work and I have been getting a scrambled egg (thru trial and error (and several upset tummy episodes) I had to get them to add a little milk and leave off the oil on the grill) but I can't eat the whole thing. I still can't eat too much (about 2 oz at a time max) so I guess I'm stuck with the protein shakes for a few more weeks/months. I'm planning to pick up a smoothie maker this weekend so that I can do that too.

Again, thanks for the ideas.

Bridget - I had to laugh, I done the same thing - the donut was soo good, but I didn't like it after a 1/2 hour

I find oatmeal is also good for breakfast with a little splenda & a shake of cinnamon.
