Default McDonald's Cheeseburger less bun OK?

I'm trying to think of new foods to eat while on the go, especially during lunchbreak at work. I checked the McDonald's website for the nutrition content on a cheeseburger without the bun and it shows 150 calories, 10 grams of fat and 10 grams of protein. I've eaten these twice and had no issues at all. Is it OK to eat these? I figured since it's a small thin burger I should be OK if I chew well. It also seems to be a good source of protein. Thoughts?

For me that would be too high in fat especially as early out as you. I don't do well with higher fat foods, though. I also try to keep my total fat intake < 30 grams in a day.

Personally, I stay away from the fast food hamburgers. They just don't sit well with me even without the bun. I do much better with chicken breast salads, chili, chicken breast sandwiches (minus 1/2 bun) and the inside of a taco.

Good for you for checking out the nutritional stats. That's always what I try to do before going out to a resturant to eat. Its a really good habit to get into.

So in regards to your question? Not a horrible choice if you don't do it often and you tolerate it ok.

Next time i'll try a plain grilled chicken breast sandwich without a bun. For some reason though chicken seems hard for me to digest. Wendy's chili is also one of my favorites!

Early out the chicken might be hard. I've never had a problem with it but many people do. Just see how it goes. My on the go staple is still wendy's chili and I'm almost 3 years out.

Phfffftttt...Kelly, don't be too hard on him. He looked up the nutritional stats!! Yeah, the thought of McDonalds still makes me sick to my stomach but the stats could have been worse.

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I was looking for advice not smartass comments. I was simply looking for a good source of protein and something else to eat while out and about. I look at the nutritional content of EVERYTHING before I eat it. Sorry to get your panties in a wad.

My nutritionist's post-op diet includes meat as long as it's cooked fork tender. I can cut a McD's burger with a fork.

It seems a little early to try ground beef, but if it isn't bothering you, go for it. When I was allowed ground beef, I did try a McD's cheeseburger, minus the bun of course. Ate about 1/4 of it & felt it hanging out for quite a while. Each one of us is different, I tend to do better with very moist chicken & turkey. This is a major learning process, you'll do great!
