Has anyone found a cold cereal that they like?
I usually like to eat cereal in the morning for breakfast. Is there anything good for after surgery when we are able to "eat"? I am not too crazy over oatmeal or anything else that is mushy and hot.
Thanks in advance!

I have been eating Honey Oat Cheerios with some sliced up Bananas and a package of Splenda. I have also tried Honey Nut Oats. Both seem to be working OK for me.

Special K?
I am 10 weeks out and I have a hard time with eggs these days. I recently starting eating the new Special K Protein Plus, kind of reminds me of Total. Not bad I add skim milk, 1/2 small banana or a few blueberries and a little bit of sweet and low. It has 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber in 3/4 cup. I like it but am also wondering if I should be worried about the carb content (14 grams).

I'm living on Kashi cereals.. my fav meal any time of the day is FAGE greek yogurt, mixed with Kashi Honey Almond Flax cereal with a packet of splenda.
I've had that for nearly every meal the last few days due to stomach upset..
1/2 of a 7oz container & 1/4 to 1/3 cup of Kashi.. 1/2 pkg splenda.
the yogurt has 17 grams of protein per 7 oz and the kashi has 9 grams of protein per cup.. so you'll need to do the math based on the amounts you're eating.

I love cereal, but I try to stay away from it because I can literally eat a lot of it now that I am 4 years out. I like the bad cereals like Lucky Charms and things that I know I shouldn't eat, so I just stick with Kashi or sometimes put some granola on yogurt.
I like the Kashi bars, too. I got some that are Pumpkin Spice...love them!!

Yum
Crackling Oat Bran. Good yummy stuff that stays crisp for awhile, long enough to eat the portion we can eat.
The other is that old Quaker oats box of brown or yellow cereal. Good stuf, like granola sort of, but loved it as a kid and still do.
Life cereal is good too. Not sure on nutrients, probably not great.
For a treat I used Lucky Charms when I had that short-term desire. Wish they sold them in tiny boxes...
I'd try the Crackling Oat Bran first. Yummy and pretty healthy (for cereal that's not all nuts and twigs!)

I've been wanting Rice Crispies with splenda. When I'm ready I think I'll try that Kashi kind.

The Honey Almond Flax Kashi cereal is not the twiggy kind, which is why I like it so much.. it looks & tastes like "normal" cereal, lol.. But with 9 grams of protein and the flax, which is healthy.

For me I like the Kashi cereals but not the twigs one. *L*. I like the Flax one plus the Go-Lean-Crunch...though it is kind of high on the sugar so be careful if you dump easy. I also like the Special K Protein Plus.
Target also has a protein cereal that is really good but a bit high on the sugar, so be careful.
