Default Coffee & Popcorn

OK - I know these are both bad but....

After surgery I can no longer handle carbonation in pop etc, so I have started drinking coffee - end up having about 3-4 cups a day and popcorn... I love to eat popcorn.

Anyone tell me if I am hurting myself by endulging in such things?

Thumbs up Popcorn

I eat popcorn every once in awhile. I know it's not good for you, but sometimes I like it, and I don't eat just any old popcorn it's the stuff with all the butter on it. It's YUMMY . I don't eat it that much. I think popcorn really isn't that bad for you it's the butter, and other stuff that makes it bad. Try to eat it plain if you're really worried about it.

I have a cup of coffee every morning, and on Sunday I went to the movie theater and had some popcorn. Too much with butter makes me dump. I think your supposed to wait 3 months before having popcorn though..... good luck lil lady! 2 days woo hoo!

I drink tons of decaf coffee, and occasionally popcorn. The difference is at least I'm eating popcorn, not an entire bag of potato chips. Popcorn has lots of fiber, which is good. Instead of marinating it in butter, try the butter sprinkles or a few sprays of the fat free butter stuff.

Thumbs up Yum

I consume both on a fairly regular basis! I have at least one cup of coffee each day and popcorn usually once a week. They both help keep me regular (the comment above about popcorn having lots of fiber is true!) - one of the very few negatives about post-op life is that constipation is a problem for me. There are lots of low-fat popcorn options too - I get the sugar free kettle corn and am currently obsessed with the Tabasco flavored popcorn... Yum!

Default coffee popcorn

i drink at least 2-3 cups of coffee a day. i have substituted coffee for soda. i also eat popcorn. i get the individual bag servings and the healthier one. it's like 90 calories a bag or 120. better than a candy bar.

OK here it goes, I drink 3-4 cups of cofee a day. I don't drink any soda unless there is no other choice. water, cofee, tea and wine. I eat popcorn occasionally. It is high in carbs and puts me to sleep. I would do popcorn in moderation. Remember Lean Proteins, complex carbs and than the crappy carbs.

I quit the coffee, but I eat popcorn atleast every other day. I crave it and it was one of the first things that stayed down really well for me. I know it is not the best choice and I have cut back from everyday. I wonder if there is a reason that we crave it so much?

Default Thanks!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only on hooked on popcorn. I love the air popped by Old Dutch. It doesn't have butter, but does have salt. I tend to have low blood pressure so the salt isn't a factor.

Thanks to all of you for your input!
