Mike, are you talking about Bridget's original post or the Pouch Rules for Dummies?

The other post has the same Pouch Rules, but I think Bridget's Five things to Add/Subtract list is good too. I was just thinking this info is good, and shouldn't be left to lie around and disappear! Whichever you think is better, though...

Bridget - Thanks for posting this....I have a NEED to subtract out that last one. Girl Scout cookies are (well, , all cookies) my biggest downfall. I am really horrible about eating nothing EXCEPT the stuff I shouldn't. Meaning...I will go the entire day, eat 8 cookies and three pieces of string cheese and nothing else. IT SUCKS, IT'S HORRIBLE and I am gaining weight. I have the control of a knat...and I really needed a good slap in the face to get my priorites strait. This article is a nice wake up call! Thank you...I feel like you posted this strictly for me....

.... the Pouch Rules is already part of my thread but I agree Bridget's post is very good - even though it dates back to 2005

Updating Newbie Thread now and thanks for always pointing people in that direction Mike

Wow and oldie but goodie resurfaced!

i find thjat when people start gaining weight its because they arent practicing basics. Basics like planning your meals. Dont eat in front of the TV or in your car. Even if you eat fast food, make sure you plan to do so and make it healthy. With the weight concious society there is really no excuse to order crap food at the drive thru.

Eat 3, 4, 5 times a day but make them planned! I eat at 8, 10:30, 12:30, 3:30 and then 6pm I have dinner. breakfast yogurt and a banana or a protein bar. 10:30 string cheese or apple. lunch salad, left overs, whatever-carb concious for sure. 3:30 string cheese, fruit or maybe even some pretzels. Dinner sensible high protein and veggie low carbs and starches. I try not to eat in the car, if i do its my planned snack. I find when you eat in the car or in front of the TV you dont enjoy or remeber what you eay and you dont feel satisfied. Dieting and maintenance is all mind games. Plan, plan, plan is all I can share with everyone that has helped me keep my weight off, good luck peeps!

Default Thanks a million

I am almost 7 years out and have maintained most of my weight loss but have found a few pounds creeping back....I am now seeing a psychologist who specializes in WLS patients and found the 5 Day Pouch Test on this website. I am so grateful that I just took the time to look on this site and find some encouragement, help and HOPE. I don't want to backslide and now that I know others are struggling, I feel a lot better...please to start the 5 Day Pouch Test very soon and as the little engine said "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can". Does anyone out there have any input as to whether the support groups help someone so far out from surgery. What I do know is that since my procedure was done in the infancy of WLS, I don't there was enough information, help and knowledge as there is now.

I would do the procedure in a New York minute.

I live in California and my procedure was done by the wonderful Dr. Callery.

Please...any thoughts, input, encouragement.

Current 203
But I want it to be back under 170...I know I can do it.

Love to all

I will be 5 years out in Feb. Support group have been the essential factor with keeping my weight off. having to be accountable to people every month, as well as watching others peoples examples of what NOT to do halp tremendously as well to stay on track.

So to answer your question, support group helps. It helps for all stages, you just have to make sure you are with the right kind of group with great leadership.

Good luck!
