Nicole, I knew what you were saying. Yeah, it is always surprising to see what a difference there is between surgeons, isn't it?
I looked at your food plan. It's actually rather like mine except that it progresses a lot faster.

Yes, it does progress faster doesn't it? But, I've eaten cottage cheese, shrimp, eggs, and refried beens so far the past two days and everything is going great!

That's good...It took me forever to be able to tolerate eggs!...a good 6-7 months, and even then it was iffy.
So glad to hear it's going well for you, Nicole.

Fast food confusion
Thank you thank you for all the info. I just had my surgery on 8/5 and have just not found any in depth info on food plans, so thank you. I wondered about the fast food thing though. It says Best foods: & Avoid: but there's no distinction. Can you further explain?
Thanks again.

Just found this thread and all I have to say is you rock Lady! I need all the help I can get and my NUT is not all that helpful. I'm one of those people who need guidance. This will help so much. One thing I did not know about was the soup. I eat soup for lunch and I also drink FF milk to take my nightly pills. I see on the no no's it says no soup. I also have a protein shake instead of breakfast I hope that is ok.

Hi Vivien. When I did the copy and paste it messed up the format. That is why it looks confusing. If you would like me to I would be happy to email the plans to you so that the format was intact. Just let me know.

My surgeon's practice discourages the use of liquid protein. His rationale is that liquid leaves our pouch more quickly so that we may tend to eat more. I try to get all my protein from regular food but on occasions I do take liquid protein supplements. I also eat soup but try to stick to the thicker soups. I personally don't find that I get hungrier any faster and it doesn't seem to cause me to eat more. So if it is working for you I personally don't see a problem. If you find that your weight loss is stopping, well then the liquid proteins may be something you want to look at. As long as you are losing I really wouldn't worry about it.

Hello, Just wanted to thank you, I had my Lapband on Aug. 5th and everytime I ask my Dr. about foods to eat he says just stick to what the Lapband book says, well it does not give you enough information to even tell what to eat and not to. I have not had any trouble with anything I have eatten so far, but I have not gottem my first fill yet, I am sure when that happens on Sept. 8th it will change. Thanks again
