Question Ideas for lunch at work

I am going to be returning to work next week. I was wondering if anyone can recommend some ideas for packing lunches. I need to take some snacks due to low blood sugar issues. Just was wondering what most working gastric bypass patients bring to work.

Red face LUNCH suggestions

Here's some lunch suggestions postop:

string cheese, deli shaved turkey or ham, beef jerkey, protein drink, cottage cheese, smoked salmon, chicken strips precooked from costco deli, soup, ricotta cheese, cooked veggies with melted cheese.

With the protein I usually add some veggies or fruit, sometimes rice or potatoe

I tend to stay clear of bread since fast food sandwich stuff was an old binge habit for me preop. Overall, the less high carb food that I consume, the less cravings that I seem to have. Some days are better than others!

Default

Some of what I brought when returning to work after surgery were... beans, cottage cheese, shrimp, chicken slices, leftover soup, etc. Also a little veggies, maybe cucumber slices. I never took much as I was still only able to eat small portions. It was odd, my lunch bag was so light, not like before when it was heavy and packed like if I was going off to war... hehehe.

Default lunches to work

I used to bring cottage cheese and fruit, turkey, cucumbers, tomatoes, a few crackers or rice cakes, string cheese, rice cakes and some fruit or vegetables. now that i'm a year out i usually have every day a salad with protein on it such as chicken or turkey or salmon or tuna. i find that holds me the longest. sometimes i'll have a half of turkey sandwich, but the carbs in the bread i'm hungry an hour later. a couplel times i've had a chicken rice bowl and once again the carbs from the rice i'm hungry an hour later so i try to stay away from the carbs.
