Default My Post-Op Menu from Nut.

My nutritionist gave me this menu to follow. I thought at first (from reading books) that I'd be on liquids a lot longer than a week. If any of you have spare time, can you take a look at this for me? How is it different than your menu? Does anyone have any positive/negative suggestions for me? Thanks!

Every doc is different. My doc did one week of clear liquids, then one week of clear liquids plus protien shakes made with skim milk. Then four weeks of pureed food. Then 2-4 months of soft foods. Regular diet after 6 months. I can't say that I followed it completely, but I did for the first 3 weeks completely (I went to soft foods after three weeks)

My personal thought (and this is just my opinion) is that the more time you give your digestive system to heal (sticking with liquids and soft foods), the better you will do with tolerating foods when you are ready.

Hi! I think you will find that each program/surgery does things differently. Mine was WAY different than everyone else I read about. They are completed against protein shakes and want you to get used to eating a regular diet for long term success. I started eating mushy food two days after surgery-something I hope to never have to do again!
