Default Malnutrition – I have been thinking ..

Malnutrition – I have been thinking ..

In two weeks I am going for my first full set of blood work for my 3 month check up, So I have been thinking about supplements.
Instead of taking 3 iron pills at night, I was wondering could I take 1 iron in the morning and than 2 at night to spread out and maybe absorb more. I know we aren’t supposed to take calcium and iron together but can I take iron and multi-vitamin and protein together or within like 1 hour of each other.
I take my synthriod as soon as I wake up, with a few sips of water, and then I wait one hour before taking anything else, sometimes maybe two. Then I take an iron pill and my blood pressure meds. ( sadly I am still on them). I was thinking, can I take my protein and multi-vitamin around the same time or should I wait 2 hours after the iron and then take the multi and calcium. Does anything block absorption of protein. (please forgive the question if it sounds stupid) Than wait till the afternoon and take my 2nd multi vitamin and then more calcium, and protein as needed.
I am worried that taking 3 iron pills in the evening that perhaps my body cannot absorb it all. Does anyone know how much iron we can absorb at once?
Any info would be great…..

Default

your body always absorbs things in smaller amounts so i think spacing iron over 3times is appropriate. and its only the calcium and iron you CANT take within 2 hours of eachother. thats good your surgeon does a blood check at 3 months mine only does 6 months
