Dr. Mueller explained the no coconut thing to me as an undigestible food. He said its kinda like corn, no matter how much and how well you chew its pretty much going to come out the back end in similar condition that it went in. He also said its a string food and can get stuck.

I hate coconut so I wasnt worried about missing it.

As far as the other non-nos mentioned Laura ( Dr Muellers nutritionist) included hot dogs on that list basically because those items have "zero nutritional value."

Question

No Hot Dogs???

I cut up hot dogs a few times a week. I stick with the ALL Beef Dogs...

I can't do the Multi-Animal Dogs..

And yes I know I am eating Cow lips, ears and nostrils...But hey it stays down which is a plus for me.

Do you miss Hot Dogs Tammy? I miss a loaded one. That is what got me MO..I liked everything LOADED

I have had the Orville Reddenbacher popcorn snack thingys (ofcourse only a few at once) Never had a problem with them. Then again...they are not big, puffy popcorn pieces. I can do pretty much any fruit or vegetable with no problem. i agree that moderation is the key to it all. Everyone always said beef would be hard to get down. For me beef was a piece of cake to eat. To this day I still have issues with chicken for some odd reason. I cannot figure it out. I think as your pouch heals and you retrain your self to eat, you will discover you can tolerate more than you thought.

I am not sure myself, but my mother had the bypass 10 years ago and she eats popcorn, drinks coffee, and she has to drink her soda warm, but still drinks it, will eat a small amount of peanuts and hot dogs. not sure if that helps anyone, but I tried. Gena
