It's browned on both sides but I could have cooked it a little more. It's not melted as much as I'd have liked but still DELICIOSO! The butter flavored pam adds to the yumminess too.
I don't know what happened Beth. Is it in a big block of cheese?
Yep, it was a big block but maybe I cut the slices too thin. They were each like 1 oz each. How big were your slices? When I looked at how much fat was in an oz I didn't want to cut it too big. My pouchie doesn't like high fat foods and in general makes me feel rather ill.

It was 3 or 4 oz. My pouch tolerated it no problem. I think if it was thinner it would probably melt.

That was probably why it melted on me. I'll try a bigger piece next time. It was rather greasy when it melted, though it tasted good my pouch acted like it was a little too high fat. Maybe because it was melted cheese.

I'll try again tomorrow. I haven't given up yet!

So.. we ended up at the Walmart in NB today.. was a nice drive through a few small towns.. NB downtown was quite lovely too...

Took us forEVER to find the cheese, though.. We kept looking in the regular cheese section, didn't realize it was over by the cream cheese and sour cream.

Anyway, we just got home about 10 minutes ago after being out all day so I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try it.. good to know not to cut it too thick..

That place must have been PACKED today. Cold, rainy and a saturday! Sorry, I should have mentioned it was over there. My bad.

OH and kelly, I meant if it was too thin it would completely melt. I just didn't cook the thicker piece long enough. Sorry for the confusion.

The place WAS packed, but it was okay.. we had a nice drive out there... (I drove, but didn't see any cops thankfully! lol).. I had to park far away but I had my pedometer on so I was logging my steps .

And I'm sorry, when I said I wouldn't cut it too thick.. I meant to say I wasn't going to cut it too THIN.. so I'm the one that confused things, lol. I want mine brown and somewhat melty.

Now, if I like this stuff, I'll have to find a more local source.. that was a nice drive but...

Do you have price chopper where you are? I haven't checked there yet but when I do I'll let ya know if they have it.

OR, you come down to NB and come visit ME! I'm just down 146. I can SEE 146 from my house.

I just placed the melted cheese on top of my parmesan tuna patties and enjoyed it that way.

So rach, what's the trick? I'm curious now.
Maybe your slices were too thin?? IDK.

when I made the last time my slice was a little thinner and it did get a little melty before it browned.

I was at Costco again today and they had these sampled again. I checked what she was doing and she had cut more like chunks from the block and they flattened as she fried them. So it was like a 1/2 ounce rectangle and it browned quite nicely.

Hope it works better for you next time

I'll try it that way next time too, to see if I like it better that way.

I just made some again, 3 oz??. I browned it up and then popped in in the microwave for 30 seconds to melt the middle. YUM!
