Thumbs up YAY - High Protein Cereal!

Maybe I'm the last one to notice this, but I found a high protein cereal at Henry's last night that is making me very happy! It's called Hi-Lo and it comes in either regular or with strawberries. Per half cup serving, it has 12 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar! WHOOHOO!

On a bizarre note - when I was trying to input milk into FitDay.com, I did a search and on the first page was listed "Human Milk"... What the #@$%??!

Smile Cool cereal....

Okay do you find it in the bulk foods section or they packaged cereal section?

Default In the packaged foods...

It's in a regular cereal box, with the other pre-packaged cereals. It definitely has a different consistency (kind of grainy), but I didn't think it was bad at all. Having the strawberry version - or adding your own fruit - gives it enough flavor that you don't really notice.

Total and Special K has come out with protein cereals too. I don't eat cereal, so I haven't looked at the boxes to compare and find out what they're using as protein.

Thumbs up Another cereal

I found this one made by POST, its called Carb Well a serving size is 3/4 cup it has 11g protein and 5g sugar. pretty cool huh? It comes in two flavors cinnamon and golden crunch I think is the other. I got the golden one... kind of tastes like a crunchier Honey Comb cereal. Also, Minute Maid makes light orange juice now... only 10g sugar in an 8 oz glass. I had a glass this morning, it felt good to have a cup of OJ once again.... did you know that regular OJ has 24g of sugar in an 8 oz glass EWWW!

I've tried the protein Total and it's pretty gritty going down and bland to me. Actually, I've found anything low carb is yucky. I'm suspicious when they replace too much stuff with artifical sweetners. It's still just over processed foods to me.
