Default Anyone Problem With Eggs??

I am almost 3 mos post op. I have only had eggs twice since surgery. The first time was a deviled egg pureed. It was good, but made me nauseas. That was a 1 month out. Today I tried a hard boiled egg. Ate about 3 bites and knew this was not going to be good so stopped. I seemed to get through it and was ok for 4 hours. I had not eaten nothing else all day, and then came the pains, sweating, rapid heart beat, and a quick run for the toilet. I had it coming from both ends. I have had problems with constipation the past few days and wonder if the egg just built up too much gas??? It was as if I was having a dumping episode but it wasn't from any sugars. This was the second time I have thrown up from food, the first being roast beef from Arbys. Although the first time the vomiting was very quick and uneventful and nothing like the wretching I am used too, this time was different and back to the dry heaves, wretching and major headaches that I used to have while vomiting. I am better know but just don't understand what is happening. I can't do oatmeal either anymore as it makes me nauseas just like the eggs, as does chicken most of the time. I also have a problem with milk on occasion, and can't do any yogart, cottage cheese. I am good with almost anything else. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions????

Izzy, I had a terrible time with eggs too for the longest time. I wouldn't throw up but I would be nauseous and my pouch would hurt. It took me about a year before I could tolerate them. I've heard a lot of people who have had trouble with eggs in the first several months after surgery. Chicken is another big one that people have trouble with. I do ok with chicken but tolerate the thighs much better than the breast.

Just back off from the eggs for awhile and try again later. It might get better with time.

I ate an egg probably almost every day for the first 6 weeks. Now I can't stand them. The last time I did I almost lost the race to the bathroom. Now I have absolutley no desire for them.

I had trouble with eggs early out, but now I can eat two of them--scrambled or boiled. If I go beyond that, there's trouble, so I don't!

Also, much as I like the eggs...they somehow combine with the already noxious post-bypass gas--I know you know what I'm talking about! The two together create an emission that could peel paint from the walls. As a matter of fact, a few days ago, I had a boiled egg for breakfast--completely oblivious about what it would do in my intestines--had a giant silent fart in the middle of my third period class with a bunch of 7th graders, was horrified, but decided to play it off. I spent a good two minutes telling them that I wasn't sure who it was, but why did we all have to suffer? I told them that if it were me, I would be embarrassed to do that in a group---and that it was time to start thinking about being more mature. (I was DYING inside, but mortified of them thinking that it was me that farted!) I felt guilty and told them yesterday that it was me, but they didn't care. A couple of them giggled, but nobody really gave a hoot! (Well, except me...)

You can NOT continue to write such hilarious (but true) stories! Mike what are we at TT gonna do with you?! You had got to be one of the "coolest" teachers ever!!!

Okay...sorry got off topic...but blame Mike, not me!!

I too could eat eggs post-op up until 3-4 weeks out...then I'd dry heave if I ate one little teeny-tiny bite...haven't had the courage to try them since...and I'm 9 weeks post-op!

Thumbs down

Even at 3 years out eggs are hit or miss with me.I want them "over medium" but pouch wants them scrambled, however, sometimes the smell of cooked eggs makes me wanna gag.I have a real gag/trigger with smells now.

I love eggs but they don't always love me in return

thnks guys, Mike you have to stop making me laugh so hard, I almost peed my pants. My kids think I am totally crazy sometimes, they are trying to nap and I am laughing hysterically.
I have never been a real big egg eater at all before wls, always was kind of nauseas and hit or miss if I could eat one or not, but I know now it will have to wait quite a while longer before I try again. So eggs, pb, chicken, roast beef, tuna, bananas, yogart, cottage cheese, and sometimes milk are out for now. I will try them all again at some point just not now. The good news is since yesterday's explosion of both exits, I am down to 290. 4 more lbs to get where I was when I met my husband and got pregnant with my daughter 14 and 1/2 years ago. 4--3---2----1.

Unhappy For Eggs sake

Yes!!
Still to this day I can not keep an egg dish down.
It almost seems as if the surgery made me alergic to eggs.
Wierd.
I really miss them too as I was a real big egg eater before surgery.
