Default Nutrition 4 years after surgery HELP????

Hi this is my first time to this site. I have read through some of the post but I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm at 150 lbs. I lost 100lbs in the first year and have stay at this weight ever since. I'm happy at this size. I have been married for only a year and I am trying to explain my health to my new husband. He asked my why I need Protein now and I didn't know how to answer him. He said I thought that was just something you had to do after the after not still at 4 years (after surgery) so that is what started me search and I found this site.

I have been going to my regular doctors for check ups and b-12 shots. I have to say I don't really eat food that has protein because it is really hard for me to keep that down. I don't feel that I'm unhealthy but he seems to think that I am. I do get tired alot. I have stayed at 150lbs for 3 yrs so I didn't think I really had any problems but I not losing any more weight so I thinking I'm doing everything I need to do.

I don't know if this is making any since its 4:30am and this is something that has been on my mind. If anyone can help me answer some of the question my husband is asking that would be such a help to me. I guess I feel after 4 years I should just be able to do the same things everyone else does. (That is everyone that hasn't gone through the surgery).

I’m looking forward to hearing from someone....

I'm a little over two years out and I still go for the protein. I think it helps with the energy levels. Your body was permanetly changed-it wasn't temporary, so the high protein way of eating will always be best for you. Protein shakes, string cheese, yogurt, beef jerky, tuna, and protien bars are some of my favorites.
