I have tried the Blueberries 'n Cream and Banana flavors and I had no problem getting it down. However, I am just getting over the flu and this was one of the only things I could get down on a daily basis. Of course, I haven't had any since I am feeling better, so I hope it was a good as I think it was. =)
The Vitamin Shoppe in my area sells them individually, so you don't have to buy a bunch to try them and if I remember correctly they were something like $2 each.

Fiber is filling and slow to digest, which is good when you are trying to lose weight, but for WLS patients, extra fiber is not necessary and can be counter-productive. My surgeon explained that for the human body to be healthy, there are only three thing needed: water-based liquids, protein and vitamins. These three things are imperative for WLS patients even more so. Oatmeal should be considered a treat, not part of your regular diet.
I have to disagree because i went to my 3mth appt the other day and he prescribed "Herbulk" fiber. it IS fiber and because me personally have explosive incredibly loose stools thats what he wants me on. There are 2 kinds of fibers, and I need the "bulking" fiber. bad stools after surgery

and I agree with Kelly, since when is fruit bad for you?

For me personally and per my surgeon and nutritionist info Oatmeal is good. I have a pack of the quaker instant variety (either the weight control or low sugar variety) every night. I have had no problems tolerating it and its a great source of fiber (and protein in the weight control form). Some may not be able to keep it down as well as with all things concerning this surgery to each his/her own. I have never heard of fiber as being touted as anything but a good thing in my experience. My nutritionist has a whole work up on its benefits and good sources of dietary fiber. For me because of a pre existing condition I have in that rear portion of the body it is important for me to stay regular and for the stools to stay soft (the stuff we talk about ugh). I take one dose of Citrucel Sugar Free and the Oatmeal and sometimes 1/2 cup of Kashi Go Lean Cereal. When I say I'm regular I mean you can set you clock by it. And all is well weight loss wise and I made sure my nutritionist approved. She suggested I could get more fiber if I wanted (Fiber 1 cereal is a great source). I'm about 2 months out today so keep that in mind although I have been having oatmeal since I left the liquid stage. About fruit I've never heard them mentioned as a bad thing either. What I have heard is some people dump on them and some don't. If you can tolerate fruit I've heard its nothing but a good thing (just watch skins early on). Always everybody is different and this is what has worked for me just passing it on.
