Question Centrum Chewables/Tylenol

I am getting ready for my surgery. I have been taking Bugs Bunny /sugar free chewable tabs. Today, I was at Save-On & bought Centrum Chewables for adults.

I got home...looked at what is in them & discovered that one pill contains 1gm of carbs. At the bottom of the label it also says that they may contain Fructose & Maltodextrin. The words are so small, I am not sure if I spelled them correctly, but you get the idea.

Do the Centrum Vits. have to much sugar? Has anyone tried them? How about the One-a Day Sugar Free Bugs Bunny Vits.

Any feedback about post-surgery supplements will be a big help. I would prefer to buy them at a local store rather than on-line because I will be doing this for the rest of my life.

I'm confused.

PS...I have used INSIDS for a long time for arthritis pain which I can no longer use. I was told Tylenol would be OK. Today I bought the gel caps, thinking that it was a powder in a capsule I could sprinkle on food if necessary. WRONG! I took the capsule off & the pill is hard as a rock. Any ideas on that problem?

Thanks again for your feedback.

Thumbs up Tylenol

You can take it in that form, that is what I do. I haven't ever had a problem with it. The only thing is.. and call me crazy.. but Tylenol knocks me out now. Pretty much anything makes me tired.. it's silly I know but Tylenol really does it for me. Of course running around like a chicken with my head cutt off doesn't help either.. lol

Thumbs up Centrum Chewables

Lei,

Sorry forgot to chime in about the Centrums. Are they still sealed? Can you take them back? Does it say in the first 5 ingredents any type of sugar product? Also is there anything on there that states the grams of sugar in them? I am sure they will be fine actually, but just trying to make sure. The best thing to do is to ask our Vitamin Specialist Tracie. I think she's working today but will give her a call to chime in and answer some of your questions if she can.

Best of luck to you.. sorry I couldn't be of more help. Don't stress, you'll be fine. For the first couple of weeks you'll be on the Bugs bunnys but I am sure the others will be just fine.

Hi Christina,
You are always so thoughtful. It is so sweet of you to address the vitamin question too. I haven't opened the Centrums. I'll see if I can get some info from Tracie.
I did look closely at the 2 labels & there is only a tiny bit of difference between the two. It might be best to stick with the Bugs Bunny Vits. I like the name better too.
One more question for now...is one pill a day the right amount for the multi?
Thanks so much you dear sweet girl.
((((Hugs))))

Thumbs up Multi-Vitamins

You take 2 a day. One in the morning and one at night. I thought at first it was just at night.. (when you get down to 1 daily then that is when you take it .. at night.) I am still on 2 daily.. even with the adult stuff I take now.. because I was malnurished and vitamin deficient.

But for now.. especially in the beginning.. take 2 a day.. one in the morning and one at night.. unless your Dr. instructs you otherwise..

I am so glad you told me about taking 2 vits a day. Our doctors & nurses know a lot about this stuff but they are very busy so it's the people who are living with WLS, who know the ins & outs of what must be done on a daily basis.
I suspect that as more people take advandage of WLS this info will always be evolving & changing. Thanks for your fedback my friend.

Thumbs up

Thanks for your tip about calcium. What kind are you using? I like your idea of using chewable calcium. It seems like they will be easier to get down.
Are you taking Bugs Bunny Vitamins too?
This site is just great. I don't know how I would be able to face surgery & my new life without the help you all give.

Thumbs up Glad To Help!

I am taking Caltrate chewables (doc recommended them) and I take the Equate (wal-mart brand ) of kids chewables. I don't know if they are sugar free, but I haven't had a problem with them! Hope this helps!
